Zane Smith is the super rookie in the 2024 Cup Series season who will be looking forward to claiming the title of the Rookie of the Year Award in 2024. It is going to be his first full-time season in NASCAR and Zane Smith is trying to secure himself the most number of points.

He will be racing for Spire Motorsports, which is in partnership with Trackhouse Racing. Smith will be driving their no. 71 Chevy Camaro ZL1 in the Cup Series. He will also compete part time in the Craftsman Truck Series in the no. 91 Chevy Silverado for McAnally- Hilgemann Racing.

Zane Smith found himself great success in the Truck Series making a leap to NASCAR in 2023 with a couple of race runs. However, he got a confirmed seat in the Cup Series in 2024 and is now competing with other rookies who have found similar success in the lower series.

He has raced part-time for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series, albeit he has never raced a full-time season with them. Zane Smith won championships for five consecutive years after starting karting in 2004.

He later on moved on to legends car racing. He made his full-time debut in 2020 in the Craftsman Truck Series. He won the Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver of the Year award in 2020 racing in the Truck Series.

However, Zane Smith is the 2022 Craftsman Truck Series Regular season and title champion. He has claimed nine wins in the Truck Series. His first win in the Truck Series came at the 2020 Henry Ford Health System 200.

He won one more race in the 2020 season placing second in the drivers championship. Zane Smith won four races in the 2022 Truck Series including the last race of the season which helped him secure the championship title.

Zane Smith Top-10s

Zane Smith has one Top-10 finish in the Cup Series and eight Top-10s in the Xfinity Series. He hasn’t claimed a pole position in either of the series. His only Top-10 in NASCAR Cup Series came at the 2023 Coca-Cola 600 racing for Front Row Motorsports. However, as a part of his flamboyant success in the Truck Series, he has 59 Top-10s and three pole positions in the series in 94 races run over six years.
