Martin Häner is a German field hockey player. Having made his senior international debut at the age of just 17, he is regarded as one of the brightest emerging stars on the hockey horizon of the reigning World and Olympic champions. 2008-2009 was the highlight of his career with him captaining the German under 21 during their victorious campaign in the junior World Cup. He plays as a central defender or marker though he prefers the latter. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament.
