While attending Pope High School in Marietta, Georgia, Lowe participated in jazz and symphonic ensembles on the upright bass. In 2014, he became a Mercer Bears collegiate baseball player after enrolling at Mercer University. He transferred from St. Johns River State College to Mississippi State University for the 2015 season in order to play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2016.
