DMX’s fiancée Desiree Lindstrom recently revealed that his youngest child, Exodus, is living with Stage 3 kidney disease.
Lindstrom recently spoke up about her son’s diagnosis and how life changed after losing her husband a year ago. She disclosed on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast that Exodus has had the disease since birth, or shortly after. Explaining her son’s condition, she said
“I just continue to keep his potassium down. He can’t eat no high-potassium foods. He goes to the doctor very often. I make sure that his creatinine levels are at the levels that they need to be to keep him stable.”
Desiree mentioned that there have been a lot of different changes since her husband DMX’s fatal overdose. She also revealed that she has been studying to become an esthetician, saying:
“I’m learning how to do facials, waxing, trying to build myself. I just want to build myself to be a great mother to Exodus. I want him to see that he had a strong mother, for one, that can stand up on her own. And I’m just trusting in God through the process.”
Children of DMX
Also known as Earl Simmons, he gained recognition after the release of his debut album It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998. He was also the first artist to debut an album in the top position five times on the Billboard 200 charts.
DMX suffered a drug overdose and passed away a week later, on April 9, 2021 at the age of 50. Reports say that his brain was deprived of oxygen for around 30 minutes, which led to a heart attack. He left behind 15 children.
1) Xavier
Earl was married to Tashera Simmons from 1999-2014 and they welcomed four children. Their eldest is Xavier Simmons, who is 28 years old. Xavier was born before their marriage and has recently made a movie, according to his Instagram account.
2) Tacoma
Tacoma is DMX and Tashera’s second child. Tacoma’s Instagram account states that he is a musical composer. He started college in the fall of 2019.
3) Sean
Earl and Tashera’s third child together is 18-year-old Sean Simmons. While he is not active on social media, his mother shared a picture of him on Instagram on the occasion of his birthday on June 10, 2020.
4) Praise Mary Ella
Praise Mary Ella is the fourth child of Earl and Tashera. She is 15 years old and maintains a private account on Instagram. Her mother often shares pictures of her on social media.
5) Sonovah Junior
Sonovah Junior is one of the children DMX welcomed outside of his marriage to Tashera. The 12-year-old followed in her father’s footsteps and released a song titled I Hate Zoom. Her mother currently seems to be operating her social media accounts.
6) Aaliyah
Earl welcomed his daughter Aaliyah in 2011 and she is now 10 years old. She is named after the popular singer who died in an airplane crash in August 2001. The father-daughter duo has collaborated on many occasions, and while introducing her on an episode of 106 & Park, Earl referred to his Romeo Must Die co-star as an angel.
7) Exodus
Exodus was born in 2016 and is now five years old. DMX reunited with his son in 2019 after being released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in West Virginia, where he was serving out a one-year sentence for tax evasion.
8) Child with Monique Wayne
It was revealed through DNA testing in 2004 that Earl fathered a child with Monique Wayne. The child’s identity remains unknown and the rapper seemingly denied the paternity of the child. The New York Post reported that the artist was ordered to pay $1.5 million to Monique in 2008, four years after the child’s birth.
9) Two children with Yadira Borrego
Earl shares two children with his ex, Yadira Borrego. Their son is 11 years old and their daughter’s age remains unknown. Borrego also shared a few pictures of DMX and his youngsters on her Instagram page when he was hospitalized.
10) Other children
While appearing on the VH1 series Couple’s Therapy in 2012, Tashera and DMX discussed his extra-marital affairs over their 15-year marriage. Tashera also spoke with Essence the same year and revealed that Earl had welcomed other children out of the wedlock. Detailed information on DMX’s other children is yet to be revealed.
