Better Call Saul has six seasons in total. Better Call Saul is a spin-off, prequel, and sequel all in one to Vince Gilligan's prior hit series, Breaking Bad. It was created by Gilligan and Peter Gould. The program ran for six seasons and 63 episodes, starting on February 8, 2015, and ending on August 15, 2022. Thanks to encouragement from his older brother Chuck, McGill decides to pursue a law degree through correspondence while working part-time at his brother's law firm. He is, however, turned down for a position at his brother's law firm as a result, and he begins to concentrate on low-paying clients while also working as a public defender. However, as a result of his brother's mistreatment, McGill starts to spiral out of control and ends up in the seedy criminal underworld, where he uses his experience as a con man to create Saul Goodman.

Better Call Saul's sixth and final season focuses on the events that followed Lalo Salamanca's attempted murder while also highlighting Jimmy McGill and his wife Kim Wrexler's scheme to destroy Howard Hamlin's career. The story eventually intensifies as Jimmy's doorstep is invaded by Lalo and Gus Fring's war, causing McGill to completely transform into Saul Goodman and witness the explosion of his two worlds.


As the show fast-forwards to 2010, McGill and Kim Wrexler have divorced, and he is now living in Omaha as Gene Takavic. This causes McGill to eventually choose a different path in life. The season then alternates between the past, present, and future as cherished Breaking Bad characters are reintroduced and their relationships with Saul Goodman are highlighted. However, after McGill's Takavic alias fails, he is forced to acknowledge his full involvement in Walter White's methamphetamine empire and is consequently given a jail sentence.


In addition, Wrexler has given the district attorney an affidavit stating that she and Jimmy were responsible for harming Howard Hamlin's reputation and career, which ultimately resulted in his death. The series concludes as Jimmy makes their signature finger-gun gesture at Wrexler as he walks away in the final scene featuring the ex-partners sharing a cigarette while McGill is serving an 86-year sentence in prison.
