Former rapper and podcaster Joe Budden recently claimed that Young Thug's stock allegedly plummeted following his release from prison due to him dissing Gunna and not releasing new music. These claims arose after Thug faced allegations of being a snitch when his two-hour police interrogation video, in which he allegedly named Peewee Roscoe, resurfaced on social media on August 27, 2025.In The Joe Budden Podcast's Patreon episode, Pillow Talk, which aired on August 29, 2025, Budden and his fellow podcast hosts discussed Young Thug's snitching allegations. Budden claimed that Thug had ruined his branding due to his behavior since his release, saying:"I'd like to focus on a different 'S' word other than snitch. Stock. Stock...Yung Thug and it is plummeted. It is plummeted. Y'all can keep having your 'who rat and who didn't' conversation...I'm not even talking about Atlanta business...Outside of Atlanta, he is putting on a masterclass in how to take a good brand and totally f**k it up..."Furthermore, Budden alleged that Young Thug had not released any new music, other than some features, or participated in any freestyles since his release in October 2024, claiming all he did was make a "bunch of phone calls" to share his feelings regarding Gunna. For the uninitiated, Gunna was arrested with Young Thug in 2022 as part of the YSL RICO case, but he took an Alford plea deal in December 2022. Following this, he faced multiple accusations of snitching on Thug, which he repeatedly denied."He [Young Thug] made a bunch of phone calls to tell people how he felt about Gunna. Chatty, chatty, chatty...All your f**king emotions. No music that did nothing. No attempt at that. The branding and marketing genius that he's shown himself to be, it ain't even been flashes of that," Budden said.Budden continued that Thug looked like a "f**king mess," adding that he "could have put his head," not been a "chatty patty," and "got to work" by releasing new music to protect his brand and image.Exploring Young Thug's response to snitching allegationsYoung Thug took to X to defend himself in light of his resurfaced police interrogation video, which first came to light two years ago. In the video, Thug is heard mentioning Peewee Roscoe's name, but the context is unclear. According to Hot 97, Roscoe was allegedly involved in a shootout in Lil Wayne's bus in 2015.On August 28, the rapper defended himself on social media after several netizens accused him of being a snitch, writing:"They didn’t play my interrogation video in court cause I helped my brada #Ratwhere?”In another X post, the rapper told people to stop trying to make him "one of those boys," adding that he believed in "death before dishonor."Young Thug ひ @youngthugLINKStop trying to make me one of those boys 😂 death before dishonor this way kidsMeanwhile, Roscoe also defended Young Thug in a social media video, adding that the Atlanta rapper did what he had to do.“That’s what you’re supposed to do. When you go in the interrogation room, that’s what you do. You tell ’em ‘We sold Dwayne Carter weed.’ What the fck is wrong with you? A statement is this right here…. He did what a tax-paying citizen do, a real street n***. He kept it silent, kept it overly real. Really, tried to pull me out the hole,” Roscoe said.Young Thug has been vocal about his disdain for snitches over the years. In one of his recent X posts, which was taken down soon afterwards, he branded Kid Cudi a "rat" after the latter testified during Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial. Notably, both Thug and Diddy were represented by the same attorney, Brian Steel. In another X post dated July 7, he stated that rappers who were rats should stick to gospel music.
