On August 26, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce took to their respective Instagram accounts to post a five-photo carousel from their floral-themed proposal, which included pictures of Kelce kneeling before the singer as she cradled his face, a close-up of the ring, and snaps of the couple embracing. The post's caption read:

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

The singer wore a Ralph Lauren striped sundress, Louis Vuitton heels, and a diamond-encrusted Cartier watch. But what caught Swifties' attention was Swift's vintage-inspired engagement ring. In a statement to Brides Magazine, Benjamin Khordipour of Estate Diamond Jewelry estimated the price of the ring to be around $550,000.

According to an exclusive report from Page Six, Travis Kelce co-designed the ring with jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The elongated antique cushion-cut 8-carat diamond is bezel-set on an 18-carat yellow gold band, which is highlighted with engravings running down the sides. The 8-carat diamond's cut is reportedly called ‘Old Mine Brilliant Cut’.

In a 2024 interview with Voyage Jacksonville, designer Lubeck elaborated on the engravings in his handcrafted rings, saying:

“I am a goldsmith specializing in hand engraving (think of it as tattooing rings – a lot of people confuse engraving with ‘etching.’ Basically, I take very small, sharp instruments and cut away bits of metal, usually on the sides of rings, into a particular design.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship bloomed after Kelce attended Swift's Kansas City "Eras Tour" concert in July 2023. According to NBC News, Kelce reportedly wanted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number during the show, but was unable to do so. He disclosed this during a subsequent episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason, saying:

“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. And I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it."

In September 2023, Swift was seen at the Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium, cheering for Kelce with his mother. She was also spotted in subsequent games, but the first confirmation of their romance came after Swift altered the lyrics of Karma during her November show in Argentina from “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me" to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me."

While Taylor Swift became a staple at Travis Kelce's games, the NFL star returned the favor when he appeared on stage at one of the "Eras Tour" shows in London in June 2024 as one of the backup dancers during Swift's performance of I Can Do It With a Broke Heart.

Taylor Swift also made an appearance on the Kelce brothers' recent New Heights podcast episode, which aired on August 13, 2025, to talk about her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. During the podcast, the Love Story singer shared her view on Kelce's public proclamation about wanting to date her, saying:

“It was such a wild, romantic gesture to just be like, ‘I want to date you’...This felt more like I was in an 80s John Hughes movie and he was just standing outside of my window with a boombox being like, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet’ … I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy – which is a big if – this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”
