The Shade Room recently posted a picture of Yung Miami's character statement about Sean "Diddy" Combs ahead of the rapper's sentencing, scheduled for October 3, 2025. For the uninformed, Yung Miami and Diddy were first romantically linked in 2021. In 2022, Miami confirmed their relationship, and in 2023, the couple reportedly broke up.On September 23, 2025, The Shade Room took to social media to post pictures of Miami's letter, which was addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over the rapper's s*x trafficking trial. Diddy was convicted on two counts of "transport to engage in prostitution" following the verdict in July 2025. However, he was acquitted of his more serious charges, which included two counts of s*x trafficking and one count of racketeering conspiracy. The letter began with Yung Miami (real name Caresha Brownlee) clarifying that she did not wish to speak about any incident that happened before she met Diddy, nor did she want to condone any wrongdoing. The City Girls rapper wrote that she only wanted to "speak from [her] personal experience," writing:"For three of those years, I was in a public relationship with Sean, and during that time, I witnessed and came to know a different person than the one often portrayed. Behind the scenes, he was loving, genuine, supportive, and always encouraging. He motivated me, believed in me, and helped me grow both personally and professionally."She further added that the rapper had provided countless opportunities to several people, including her, and had helped boost her both personally and professionally. She recalled one of her "most meaningful memories" with him, which was attending the 2023 Met Gala, and added that Combs always strived to uplift Black people.Yung Miami and Diddy at the 2023 Met Gala Celebrating "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty" (Image via Getty)Furthermore, Miami spoke about the rapper's good character, writing that he helped people "quietly, privately, without cameras, because his heart genuinely wanted to help." Her character statement also alluded to Diddy working on himself by attending anger management classes and therapy, adding:"I've also witnessed him doing real inner work. He made the choice to check himself into anger management, start therapy, and commit to physical healing through therapy. That takes strength, humility, and self-awareness. He didn't do it for show-he did it because he wanted to grow and to become a better person."She continued:"I truly believe that he belongs at home, with his family, the people who mean the most to him and who continue to be his greatest source of purpose and strength. Judge..That's a good man."Yung Miami wrote that Diddy was "not a danger or a threat to the community"In her character statement, Yung Miami wrote that she believed Diddy was "not a danger or a threat to the community," adding that he was a "man of God." She further spoke about his relationship with his children, adding that they need his "presence, love, and guidance.""In my personal experience, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community. He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically and spiritually. But more than anything, he's a father and his kids are the ones who look up to him the most. They need him. His presence, love, and guidance matter deeply in their lives," she wrote.Notably, this was a stark contrast to a letter that Cassie Ventura's lawyer wrote to the judge following Diddy's verdict. According to People Magazine, the lawyer had requested that the judge deny the rapper bail, as Ventura believed he "is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community."Combs and Cassie Ventura at the "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between" Costume Institute Gala (Image via Getty)Diddy was ultimately denied bail, with the judge citing "the defence conceded violence in his personal relationship" as the reason.“At trial, the defense conceded defendant’s violence in personal relationships saying ‘it happened’ in relation to Cassie Venture and Jane. This highlights a disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence,” the judge added.According to E! News, Yung Miami had previously addressed Combs' mounting s*xual assault and abuse allegations in an episode of her Caresha Please podcast a month before the rapper was arrested in 2024.In the August 8 episode of the podcast, the City Girls rapper said that she didn't want to speak on something that wasn't her experience. However, she added that Diddy "brought out another side of [her]" that extended beyond just her music.Meanwhile, Combs' ex-girlfriend, who testified under the pseudonym Jane, alluded to being jealous of Yung Miami's relationship with the rapper during her testimony. According to USA Today, Miami and Combs began dating around the same time the rapper was seeing Jane.During the trial in June 2025, Jane testified that seeing pictures of Diddy and Miami vacationing in Turks and Caicos was "very hurtful" and made her "extremely heartbroken."Rap generals @RapgeneralsTVLINKJane Doe, who was in a secretive relationship with Diddy, testified today that it was “tough to watch” his public relationship with Yung Miami. On September 22, 2025, Diddy's legal team requested that the judge sentence him to "no more than 14 months" in prison in a new filing ahead of the sentencing hearing. The rapper has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Centre since his arrest in September 2024.
