Persona: Sulli- Everything we know so far about the upcoming short film

Persona: Sulli, the posthumous work of the late K-pop idol and actress Sulli is reportedly set to release on June 16, 2023. Persona is a Netflix original anthology series that was released in 2019 starring IU, consisting of five films. The title received positive reviews from fans and was hailed for its content.

Persona: Sulli is the second installment of Persona, which will focus on the late idol. The series was intended to include five short films but has been narrowed down to one special episode after Sulli passed away during the filming of episode 2 in October 2019.

Release date

Persona: Sulli also goes by the name Persona 2 and is reportedly slated to premiere on Netflix on June 16, 2023, as per SPOTV News. The upcoming anthology series will consist of only one short film which will feature Sulli.


Plot

The upcoming short film or the special episode, will pay tribute to the late idol. It will include an in-depth interview that she gave in 2019, during the filming of Persona 2. Fans were overwhelmed after hearing the latest news about the second installment of the series.

They are now eager to see what the idol has conveyed in the aforementioned short film and are elated to hear the voice of the K-pop singer one last time.


Cast

Since it's a short film featuring the late actress, Persona 2 will only feature her giving an interview. There may be additional cast members depending on what Mystic Story has decided. However, nothing else has been revealed by the aforementioned production team except for the statement that mentioned they have finished shooting for the short film and will soon release it.

The actress was a former member of SM Entertainment's K-pop girl group f(x). She appeared in several dramas including To The Beautiful You, Hotel Del Luna, Ballad of Seo Dong, and others. She also featured in films like Fashion King, Real, I AM, and others.


No official trailer has been released by Netflix or Mystic Story yet but a glimpse from the shoot of the idol's 2018 personal photo album Love, Myself is currently doing the rounds on social media. The clip is also available on Netflix, and she is seen giving an interview for her short film, as she states:

"I wondered what my role could be in that small world, what it be like to build a relationship, and what people my age had in their minds, this thing FAME, it show up abruptly, i understand to be famous but I was scared too"

The idol passed away on October 14, 2019, and as per The Korean Herald, she died by suicide after she experienced depression following excessive cyberbullying. Both K-drama and K-pop communities are now gearing up to pay tribute to the idol by watching her short film Persona 2.
