Punk rap duo Bob Vylan faced criticism after the band’s frontman, Bobby Vylan, made controversial remarks about late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. During his September 13 show at Paradiso in Amsterdam, the singer called Charlie Kirk "an absolute piece of shit" and dedicated a song to him. In a viral video circulating on the internet, the artist could be heard saying:“I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of sh*t of a human being. The pronouns was/were. ‘Cause if you chat sh*t, you will get banged. Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk, you piece of sh*t.”Following the incident, the Tilburg venue 013, where the band’s performance was scheduled for September 16, cancelled the show. The band was set to perform on their autumn tour across the US.As per NBC, during the Glastonbury Festival, the rapper led the crowd and chanted "death, death to the IDF." On June 30, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau tweeted,"The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country."The Glastonbury festival also remarked that the artist “crossed a line.” The UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer also condemned the remarks. At no point whatsoever did we celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death. I did call him a piece of sh*t. That much is true. But at no point was his death celebrated. If it was, go find me a quote, go find me something that proves that we were celebrating his death. You’re not gonna find it, because it didn’t happen," Bobby Vylan said.Further in the video, Bobby Vylan alleged that a reporter attended the band's show "with the sole purpose of finding something to report." The rapper further said that after he called Charlie Kirk a “piece of sh*t” and the band played a song, it was reported as a "celebration."The Tilburg event's organizers issued a statement after cancelling the band's show and said that "we still believe these new statements go too far."The British band was on a three-venue tour in the Netherlands, performing in Amsterdam, Nijmegen, and Tilburg.
