For those uninformed, Drake has had a signed partnership with Stake since 2022, which was allegedly worth $100 million per year. On September 21, 2025, X page @AkademiksTV posted an image of the Canadian rapper's alleged Stake losses, which alleged that the rapper has "wagered" $619 million and suffered a loss of $35 million in one year.

Several netizens agreed with this sentiment, claiming that the loss didn't signify "real money" and was instead "Stake credit."

Drake called out Stake for not allowing him to withdraw money

Drake announced his partnership with Stake in 2022 via an Instagram post, calling the partnership "inevitable." Following this, Ed Craven, Stake's co-founder, stated that the partnership was born due to his and the rapper's shared love for "crypto, gambling, and community" in a statement to SBC Americas, saying:

“Drake has been an active member of our global community for a few months now, so the next step and natural evolution in the relationship was for us to collaborate on a stream. We share the same love for crypto, gambling and community and are like-minded fans of the technology and culture at the forefront of this movement.”

Since then, Drake has been an active member of the community and was often seen using the platform. One memorable moment in February 2025 featured a drone flying across Drake's penthouse suite in Australia, which showed the Stake website open on the rapper's laptop. The moment went viral after the Canadian rapper threw his slides at the drone, which was later revealed to be an ad for Stake, as reported by Vibe.

According to Billboard, another viral moment saw the rapper gambling on the platform alone in a nightclub while listening to Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso in March 2025.

However, the rapper's cordial relationship with the platform and its founders seemingly hit a hurdle after he was seen taking shots at co-founders Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani in Trainwreck's Kick chat in August 2025. For context, Craven and Tehrani also co-founded Kick.

In a string of messages, the Canadian rapper referred to the Stake/Kick co-founders of "goofinos" and accused them of "wanting smoke with OVO." According to Complex, he also alluded to them treating him "like s**t" despite his help to build their company.

“Eddie been dissing the owls f**k Eddie… F**k this goof… W’s for my brother TRAIN tonight… They want smoke with ovo so its uppppppp…MAX them and have a great stream… We built this s**t… And they treat us like s**t still,” he wrote.

Days after this rant, the Canadian rapper took to Instagram Story to post an image of his alleged texts with Stake's customer service, where an agent wrote that the platform was "unable to process [his] last withdrawal attempt." He accused Stake of preventing him from withdrawing money, captioning the Story:

Meanwhile, Drake has been candid about his gambling losses. In June 2025, the rapper took to Instagram Story to share a screenshot of gambling activity in four weeks. According to E! Online, the screenshot showed that the rapper had placed bets worth $124,527,265 over the four weeks and ended up losing a total of $8,235,686.
