Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star Kim Zolciak and her NFL-pro husband Kroy Biermann, have parted ways after 12 years of marriage. According to media reports, she described the marriage as "irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation." The outlet also received court documents, which listed their official separation date as April 30, 2023.
As soon as Kim Zolciak's divorce news was made public, the RHOA star received a variety of reactions from fans. They were quick to point out that the news of their divorce came amidst another breakout news that the former couple owed $1 million to the IRS in unpaid taxes from the years 2013, 2017, and 2018, according to reports. One fan tweeted:
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann got married in 2011, an occasion that was documented on their own reality show Don't Be Tardy. The series ran for eight whole seasons from 2012-2020 and showcased the family's life in detail.
At the start of her RHOA career, Kim was involved with real estate manager Lee Najjar, also known as Big Poppa.

Fans took to social media to express their opinions about RHOA housewife Kim Zolciak's divorce from Kroy Biermann. Fans were quick to throw shade at the RHOA star amidst her split and the unpaid taxes.
While some were shocked, others pointed out the former pair's $1 million debt and wondered if that had anything to do with the split.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann were introduced at a charity event in 2010, called Dancing Stars of Atlanta. They instantly clicked and began dating, following which they tied the knot in 2011. Their romance and family life was showcased on two reality shows, including their own Don't Be Tardy and RHOA.
The former couple was previously in the news after their Georgia mansion was reportedly in foreclosure. According to court documents obtained by US Weekly in February 2023, their house was about to be auctioned off the following month to whoever bid the highest. This came after the duo defaulted on their loan for the house and failed to pay the mortgage.
Kim Zolciak, however, clarified that wasn't the case. While the proceedings for the foreclosure began in August 2022, the 44-year-old reality star took to Instagram in November and said:
“Ok you guys, my house had not sold for $257,000. If you guys think I would let my home that we’ve put millions and millions of dollars into go for $257,000, you’re an idiot, okay? For real.”
According to PEOPLE, the reality stars also were rumored to have been dealing with issues in their marriage after the former NFL player was removed from the Buffalo Hills in 2016. Kim Zolciak then came to her now ex-husband's rescue and expressed that it was all for clicks and views and that everything was good with them. They further said:
"I really don't appreciate people talking s**t especially s**t that's not true because I have the most incredible husband in the world."
The RHOA star shares four children with her ex-husband - sons Kroy Jagger, 11, and Kash Kade, 10, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9. Kroy Biermann had also adopted Zolciak's older daughters Brielle Biermann, 26, and Ariana Biermann, 21 in 2013.
As per news reports, Kim is seeking joint legal custody of their children and individual primary physical custody. She has also asked for restoration of her middle name and spousal support.
Kim can be currently seen on season 15 of the Bravo show, which airs Sundays at 8 pm ET on the channel.
