A Red Angus cow from Alveus Sanctuary has been going viral on Twitch for her interactive broadcast, where people can donate to the sanctuary to activate her feeder. Winnie the cow has become Alveus Sanctuary's rising star after clips of the cow mooing at the live cams as if she were demanding treats recently went viral on the streaming platform and social media.According to Dexerto, viewers are encouraged to donate to the sanctuary, resulting in activating Winnie's feeder. After hearing treats being dropped into her trough, Winnie walks over to enjoy her snack, and live cams are set up facing the feeder so that streamers can watch her eating. The donations also cover veterinary bills, food for the animals, and the sanctuary's maintenance, in addition to providing Winnie with treats. View this post on Instagram Instagram PostAccording to the organization's website, Alveus Sanctuary functions as "a wildlife sanctuary and as a virtual education center facility to provide permanent homes to non-releasable animal ambassadors." Alveus Sanctuary reportedly broadcasts a 24/7 live stream on Twitch (they currently have over 310K followers), where viewers can engage with its animal ambassadors, including Winnie the cow.The sanctuary's website stated that the live feed was enabled to allow viewers to foster a "deeper connection" with the animal ambassadors, adding:"Viewers can also follow along with our ambassadors ... while learning about the conservation stories for each of them. Each and every ambassador at Alveus plays an important role as a representative of their species, sharing unique stories about conservation and consumer choice."Following Winnie's popularity, the sanctuary's official social media accounts have confirmed that the cow is fed daily and the donations provide additional treats, which are turned off after a period of time to prevent overfeeding. In one of the comments under Winnie's viral Instagram posts, dated September 7, 2025, the sanctuary wrote:"Since this post is also blowing up: Winnie is our cow ambassador and is fed normally on a regular basis & is very happy. This donation system is just a fun system for extra treats! (and if there are too many treats in a small timeframe we are able to temporarily shut it off to avoid over-feeding)."Winnie the cow arrived at Alveus Sanctuary in 2022According to Alveus Sanctuary's website, Winnie the cow was born in March 2022 and arrived at the sanctuary in April that year. She is a Red Angus Beef Cow and came from a cattle operation in Oklahoma. She is currently the ambassador for the beef industry at the sanctuary to raise awareness about how people can "use their consumer choice to impact the environment in a positive way.""Before arriving at Alveus, Winnie was part of a cattle operation as a Red Angus Beef Cow. The massive demand for beef around the world has led to vast deforestation and land clearing to provide space for cattle farming, resulting in habitat loss in critical ecosystems like the Amazon Rainforest, as well as the methane generated contributing to global warming," the website added.Re:Flex @re_flex_worldLINKWe live a world where a cow at Alveus Sanctuary has a twitch accountAlveus is a non-profit animal sanctuary that streams 24/7 live cams on Twitch and YouTube, with staff hosting regular educational segmentsThey also team up with other streamers to spread conservation awarenessThe feeder in this clip is set up in the pasture area, where several animal ambassadors — including a cow named Winnie the Moo — hang outIt occasionally dispenses hay pellets when viewers trigger it, and Winnie has grown so fond of it that she’ll stare into the camera and moo while it runsIt’s just a fun enrichment tool though — the animals always have full-time access to regular hay bagsWinnie the cow is one of the many animal ambassadors at Alveus Sanctuary, which includes Stompy the emu, Miley the Catalina macaw, Coconut the American crow, Serrano the domestic donkey, and Akela the wolf hybrid, among others.Winnie has her own plushie available for purchase from the Youtooz website for $29.99.Alveus Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization founded by Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and wildlife conservationist Maya Higa in 2021.
