Kaley Cuoco as Penny
Penny lives at the other end of Leonard and Sheldon's apartment across the corridor. She's an up-and-comer from a small Nebraska town outside of Omaha who wants to be an actress. Until season seven, Penny worked as a busgirl at the local Cheesecake Factory.
Cuoco then played a leading role in The Flight Attendant, obtaining a 2021 Golden Globe nomination. After her split with Karl Cook in September 2021, Kaley Cuoco confirmed her romance with Tom Pelphrey.

Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz
Howard Wolowitz is an aerospace engineer in the applied physics department at Caltech. Howard, unlike Sheldon, Leonard, and Raj, has no diploma; therefore, Sheldon frequently makes fun of him. Howard lived with his controlling, degrading, and invisible mother until he married Bernadette and became the first of the band to marry.
Helberg stopped performing after The Big Bang Theory and came to Annette. Helberg married Jocelyn Towne in July 2007 and is the father of daughter Adeline and son Wilder.
Simon's first starring movie was in 1999 when he appeared as a "college roommate" in Mumford.
Kunal Nayyar as Rajesh Koothrapalli
Rajesh Koothrapalli, commonly called "Raj," works in Caltech's physics department and is Howard Wolowitz's best friend. Raj comes from a wealthy Indian family and regularly speaks with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Koothrappali, through webcam. In contrast to his male friends, Raj has a lot of female interests, although he can't speak to women in the early seasons.
After the show, Nayyar went on to play in Sweetness in the Belly, Trolls World Tour, Think Like a Dog, Criminal: UK, and Suspicion. The actor married Neha Kapur in December 2011.
Kunal's first prominent role came just before The Big Bang Theory when he appeared in a 2007 NCIS episode.
Melissa Rauch as Bernadette Rostenkowski
Bernadette Rostenkowski started her career as a waitress and colleague of Penny's at Cheesecake Factory and used her income to finance her graduate studies in microbiology. She is a brilliant bully, stubborn, ferocious, manipulative, and often ambitious young woman with a squeaky voice that can also be pleasant and friendly. Bernadette is married to Howard and is Penny and Amy's best friend.
Rauch, who joined the show in 2009, has performed in The Laundromat, a Netflix comedy-drama with Meryl Streep, Robot Chicken, Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite, Animaniacs, and The Chicken Squad. The actress married Winston Beigel in 2007 and has a daughter Sadie and son Brooks.
Melissa's first screen credit went to the movie Delirious in 2006.
Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler
Amy Farrah Fowler is a neuroscientist who studies primate and invertebrate substance abuse and occasionally mentions substance abuse experiences. She is the love of Sheldon and, later, his wife. She's best friends with Penny and Bernadette.
Bialik, who joined the show in 2010 and became a series regular, traded one sitcom for another with Call Me Kat. She also started hosting the Jeopardy! 2022 National College Championship.
