Travis Scott is no stranger to collaborating with Nike on some of the most hyped sneakers in recent years. From his Air Jordan 1s to his Air Force 1s, the rapper has put his signature spin on various silhouettes with his reverse Swoosh and Cactus Jack branding. But his latest creation might be his most surprising and intriguing one yet: a Nike Mac Attack.

As of now, there is no release date confirmation yet. Therefore, fans will have to stick around for official word on the arriving shoe from the partnering labels. However, the potential release of these sneakers will happen on the online and offline locations of Nike’s SNKRS app as well as at the rapper’s Cactus Jack stores.

Following the launch of its highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 Low “Olive” shoes and apparel capsule in April, the Goosebumps rapper once again joined forces with the Swoosh’s design team for their fresh take on the brand’s Mac Attack silhouette.

The Mac Attack is a tennis shoe that was originally released in 1984 as the signature model of John McEnroe, one of the greatest and most controversial players of all time. The shoe features a mesh and leather upper, a checkerboard tongue label, and simple color blocking of grey and navy blue.

The shoe was never retroed until this year, when Nike teamed up with Social Status to release three tear-away colorways that reveal different patterns underneath.

But Travis Scott's version is different. It's not a tear-away, but a faithful recreation of the original Mac Attack, with one major twist: a reverse Swoosh on the lateral side. The shoe also has an aged off-white midsole and a gray rubber outsole.

The shoe was first spotted on Scott's feet during his performance at E11EVN Miami, which took place during Miami Race Week. The shoe instantly caught the attention of sneakerheads, who wondered if it was a collaboration set to release later this year.

Unfortunately, according to some sneaker insiders, the answer is no. The shoe is apparently a 1:1 custom made by Nike for Scott as a gift and not a public release. This would be a huge disappointment for fans of both Scott and McEnroe, as the shoe is one of the best Travis Scott has ever come up with.

It's a perfect homage to the original Mac Attack while adding his own flair with the reverse Swoosh. It also shows Scott's appreciation for vintage sneakers and tennis culture.

However, there is still some hope that the shoe might see the light of day. After all, Scott has a history of teasing unreleased sneakers on his social media and during his concerts before dropping them unexpectedly on his website or on the SNKRS app.

Travis Scott also has a strong relationship with Nike, which recently confirmed that he is their biggest collaborator. Perhaps Scott can persuade Nike to reconsider and release his Mac Attack to the public, or at least make more pairs for his friends and family.

For now, we can only admire the shoe from afar and hope that it will eventually drop. The Travis Scott x Nike Mac Attack is one of the most unique and exciting sneakers of 2023, and it deserves to be worn by more than just one person. It's time for the Mac Attack to make a comeback.
