Free Agency Round Up: Free agent signings so far and where the rest are rumored to go

The rumours and speculation have finally turned into realities as several big names have made their decisions as to where they will be wrestling in 2019.

As months go by, contracts for certain superstars expire. The likes of Kenny Omega, ACH, Shane Strickland and many others will join a new promotion or resign with their current one.

And since All Elite Wrestling is building its promotion from the ground up, several superstars have agreed to join the young company.

So as things currently sit at the moment, where have a lot of the top free agents gone? Who are some of the under-the-radar names that have joined various promotions?

Were there also superstars that we didn't even know were free agents? The following slide show won't list every single move, but a lot of the bigger signings made by WWE, ROH and All Elite Wrestling.

The last slide will also include some news regarding a few wrestlers and their current contractual situations.

WWE Moves, both official and rumoured

The global powerhouse didn't make huge signings but ones that have potential.

Trevor Lee, ACH and Sam Shaw all have experience in Impact while Karen Q and Rachel Ellering have had matches with NXT and the Mae Young Classic before.

Jonah Rock and Elliott Sexton from Australia also signed with WWE. The signings were all announced on Monday as a part of the February class of Performance Center recruits. Ilya Drauginov was also signed for the NXT UK brand.

AJ Styles, Paige, Shinsuke Nakamura, the Usos and Dean Ambrose have contracts expiring in April, but Ambrose has already declared his intention to leave the WWE.

Styles and the Usos have been negotiating for new deals but nothing concrete has emerged from those discussions. The Hardys also have a deal that expires after WrestleMania, but apparently, have an option for a third year.

The brothers do have a link to the Young Bucks and would probably be scooped up by the new promotion if they chose not to resign with WWE.

Kushida finished up with New Japan Pro Wrestling and was rumored to be headed to WWE. Female superstars Viper and Kay Lee Ray, who both competed in the Mae Young Classic, are also rumored to be joining WWE as likely additions to NXT UK.

Shane Strickland was rumored to be headed to WWE, but issues with his Lucha Underground contract prevented him from doing so. As of mid-January, he is officially a free agent.

Ring of Honor moves

Ring of Honor may have filled the void left by the Elite.

While it appeared that Ring of Honor would be hurt the most by the departures of most of the Elite, they have done a good job of replenishing their roster.

They had to do so when Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong, the War Raiders and Punishment Martinez all left the company.

Since Marty Scurll is the lone member of the Elite left in ROH, a new faction was created for Scurll since he will likely be a featured performer for ROH until his deal ends.

PCO, or the former Quebecer known as Pierre and later Jean-Pierre Lafitte, and Brody King, both joined Scurll in Villain Enterprises.

Rush and his brother, Dragon Lee both joined ROH. Bandido, Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams also did and quickly became members of the group 'Lifeblood' along with Juice Robinson, Tenille Dashwood and David Finlay.

Silas Young and Jay Lethal both resigned with ROH before 2018 ended while Brian Milonas, Shane Taylor and the Beer City Bruiser also resigned shortly after 2019 started.

All Elite Wrestling

Jericho and Omega appear destined to fight each other once again at Double or Nothing.

At the Double or Nothing rally in January, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Pac, the Elite, Chris Jericho, Britt Baker and Joey Janela and Penelope Ford were all introduced as the first members of the AEW roster.

Fans were expecting more of the same during the ticket announcement party for Double or Nothing last week, and they did not disappoint.

Wrestlers Kylie Rae and Nyla Rose were both introduced as were the tag team of Best Friends, Chuckie T and Beretta.

The Lucha Brothers also appeared and seemingly started a feud with the Young Bucks in order to prove just which team might just be the best in the world.

Cima, Sammy Guevara, Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy also signed deals with All Elite Wrestling, but perhaps the biggest free agent chip fell during the rally in the form of Kenny Omega.

Omega opted to join his friends in the AEW venture rather than stay with NJPW or sign with WWE. He signed a four-year deal and is an Executive VP with the company.

Female standout wrestler Bea Priestley was offered deals by almost every major wrestling company in the US, but she is rumored to sign with AEW. Nothing regarding her status has been officially announced, however.

What will Paige be doing once her contract expires at the end of April?

Paige's contract expires at the end of April 2019. Is she truly done with pro wrestling or will she look to continue her career elsewhere?

Daniel Bryan was in the same situation, but Paige's issue is Spinal Stenosis rather than concussions.

Depending on what other doctors tell her, Paige might depart WWE now that her movie, Fighting with My Family is out this week and her promotional tour will be over.

Both Ivelisse and King Cuerno have expressed serious frustrations with their status as Lucha Underground employees.

The fourth season concluded but appears that Cuerno and Ivelisse state that the contracts are 'holding them hostage' and that they prevent them from taking possibly lucrative deals which they have been offered.

They are a part of a class-action lawsuit against Lucha Underground along with Joey Ryan and Kobra Moon/Thunder Rosa.

Wrestlers like Pentagon Jr., Fenix, Drago, Daga and Aerostar have wrestled for other companies like Major League Wrestling and Impact, so perhaps they signed different deals than those in the lawsuit.
