Pro wrestling is not a sport for people adverse to pain.

Despite the fact that the matches are scripted, the winners and losers predetermined, the physicality and impacts are real enough to hurt. Even a minor move like a clothesline involves more pain than the average person would be willing to endure for any amount of money.

Night after night, these superstars put their health and well being on the line. Sadly, sometimes they become injured as a result of their dangerous, physical activity.

Here are five superstars who were injured recently, and when they might return.

#5 Dean Ambrose

The Injury that shelved him: Torn triceps.

When he might return: The first Raw after WrestleMania.

The popular Lunatic Fringe suffered a major setback after the oft-ballyhooed Shield reunion when he suffered a torn tricep.

After a painful surgery and recovery, it seems Dean Ambrose is getting very close to getting his medical clearance. Rumors abound that he may return the night after Mania, but there's always a possibility he will be involved with the biggest PPV of the year in a non-wrestling capacity.

#4 Jeff Hardy

The Injury: Torn rotator cuff, a common injury among wrestling stars.

When he might return: Not for several months after WrestleMania.

While the high flying Brother Nero had a successful surgery, a rotator cuff takes a long time to heal. Despite his appearance during Final Deletion, don't expect to see the junior Hardy back in a ring for several months at least.

#3 Big Cass

The Injury: Torn ACL.

When he might return: Possibly at WrestleMania or the Raw the day after.

Now that Enzo Amore is gone from WWE, Big Cass has a chance to shine on his own. Knee injuries are a curse of being a large wrestler, and hopefully, Cass will be back to his old tricks sooner rather than later.

#2 Paige

The Injury: Spinal stenosis

When she might return: To be determined, if ever.

Sadly, the promising career of the anti-diva Paige may be at an end. After a lengthy stay on the injured list, she made her return last year only to fall once more. Allegedly, things look bleak for a return to in-ring action, but we will hope for the best.

#1 Drew McIntyre

The Injury: Torn biceps

When he might return: Sooner than you think.

Drew McIntyre tore his biceps during a loss to Andrade Almas. After surgery and rehab, he has been spotted in the Performance Center, which means his return is imminent.

There you have it, five superstars who were injured and when they might return.
