5 Legends who could be part of WWE creative team

Zeb was the brain behind Knockouts division

Jericho invents thingsScripting professional wrestling like a soap opera is something that ruins the whole ambience. Wrestling should have storylines, but the storylines are supposed to aid the art, not degrade it.However, WWE goes along with the soap opera theory and thinks it is best for business. This resulted in a creative team filled with Hollywood writers. They do have clear-cut knowledge about running a show, but knowing the pulse of wrestling fans is an entirely different thing.Business insiders know this, and that is why they should be considered for a place in the creative team. There is a handful of legendary names that could boost WWE’s creative team and here is a look at them.

#6 Honorable Mention: Zeb Colter

Zeb was the brain behind Knockouts division

Most of the new fans would know Zeb Colter as an on-screen manager, but only few would know how good he is on the creative side. He was responsible for some of TNA’s greatest storylines.

The TNA knockout division – which is considered to be miles ahead of the WWE divas division – was the creation of Zeb.

#5 Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho had huge creative inputs throughout his career

Reading the autobiographies of Chris Jericho are bound to be a great experience for wrestling fans. He gives an in-depth look into the business and tells some funny stories. The biggest takeaway from the books of Jericho, however, is his talent to come up with interesting storylines.

Jericho had his hands in many memorable moments. With more than two decades of experience in the business, Jericho would fit in perfectly into the creative team.

His love for music and tours with Fozzy will be a major hurdle, but if WWE manages to strike some kind of deal with him, it would be good for both parties. If this was not enough, Jericho is still fit to wrestle every now and then.

#4 William Regal

Nothing can replace experience

William Regal started wrestling at the age of 15. Now, he is 47 years old.

Over the three decades, he has accumulated priceless experience which could be put to good use in a creative environment. Regal knows how to take the crowd into his hand and is also recognized as one of the best teachers around.

So if a creative team member knows which wrestlers has the goods and knows to train this particular new talent, it isn’t bad is it? He is currently a talent scout and a producer in the company, but he could contribute much more if he starts taking up the creative aspects of television as well.

#3 Raven

A wrestling genius

First of all, Raven is indeed a legend in case you were having any doubts. He started off his career in the dying period of territory days and found a huge amount of success ECW. Along with this, Raven had spells in TNA, WCW, and WWE as well.

Raven had legendary feuds with Tommy Dreamer and Sandman during his stay in ECW. As the wrestlers had some good amount of freedom in the Philadelphia-based promotion, Raven often got involved in the creative process.

A graduate in crime justice, Raven was always involved in feuds that gave importance to emotion. He is widely considered as one of the best minds in the wrestling business and since his wrestling days are well behind him, WWE should think about getting him on board.

#2 Mick Foley

Foley could accompany his son

Mick Foley is very vocal when it comes to the WWE product.

He openly criticizes when something is wrong and points out everything good about the product. Most of the time, Foley is spot on and anyone who has liked his Facebook page would know how deep Foley goes with his analysis.

Unlike the writers in the creative team, Foley thinks as a wrestling fan. This is why we relate to him and feel a connection whenever he makes a critical post on his social media account.

Just like most of the other superstars we saw, he has a wealth of experience, yet we feel like he stands alongside us. This quality could help him become a solid creative team member.

#1 Paul Heyman

There is no gamble with this guy, this will work

Do I even need to explain why this guy is on top of the list? Paul Heyman is a wrestling genius. Heyman is not the best businessman around, but when it comes to booking and creating storylines, Heyman is the best.

If he was not, how would a small promotion based in bingo halls of Philadelphia go on to challenge the likes of giants like WCW and WWE?

It was Heyman’s ideas in ECW that paved the way for the Attitude Era and he was also responsible for the peak of SmackDown during ruthless aggression era. Also, Heyman worked in FCW during a timeframe and gave us stars like CM Punk and Beth Phoenix.

Heyman getting a place in the creative team would immediately change the WWE product, but it is a long shot since Heyman would have some big demands.
