5 legends who should figure in the 'Greatest of all time' conversations more

the 5-time, 5-time....WCW champion

Two of the all-time greatsWho is the greatest wrestler of all time? This question has no clear answer. Depending on personal opinions a plethora of names will be thrown into the mix and ultimately, we are going to have a heated debate among the fans. Despite the different opinions, there will be certain names that will be mentioned in higher frequency. For instance, we will come across the likes of John Cena, Steve Austin, Rock, Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, or Ric Flair numerous times. But there will be a certain wrestlers who will be kept out of the debate even though they deserve to be in it. This list take a look at those underrated legends who should feature more in the 'Greatest wrestler of all time' debates. These are just a handful, so if we missed anyone, go down to the comment section and shoot out the ideas.

#6 Honourable Mention: Booker T

the 5-time, 5-time....WCW champion

For some reason, Booker T is never taken seriously as a wrestler by the modern era fans. Their lack of knowledge might be one of the reasons as Booker was one of the most decorated wrestlers in WCW's history.

He is a five time WCW champion and also the first true African American to hold the WWE world title. The best part is, Booker achieved all this stardom in professional wrestling after finishing his sentence of five years in prison stemming from his teen years in crime.

#5 Kane

The Devil’s favorite Demon

Glenn Jacobs started his WWE career back in 1995. He spent two years trying out unsuccessful gimmicks before finally finding some luck with the Kane character. He soon landed in a memorable feud with Undertaker and before we knew it, Kane ended up being one of the backbones of WWE's Attitude Era. Now, being one of the most competitive periods in wrestling history, any wrestler who survived the Monday Night Wars deserves a great deal of respect.

And if that same wrestler goes on to be in the Ruthless Aggression Era and the PG Era, then he is something special. Just for the record, Kane is still in the main event scene. He has held numerous championships in the WWE and is still going strong. The new generation fans might only see him as an Authority stooge, but Kane deserves more respect.

#4 Kurt Angle

Peerless when it comes to in-ring action

Kurt Angle is under the spotlight now for his injury worries. All the hard-hitting wrestling that he did throughout his career has taken a toll on his body and it would be interesting to see how many more years Angle will be active in between the ropes. We do consider Angle as a great wrestler. But not many of us are aware of the great work he did down in TNA. In fact, some of Angle's best matches happened in TNA.

He is one of 'the' most sound technical wrestlers in the business and it is an insult to leave him out while talking about names like John Cena or Steve Austin. Angle might've not been the face of WWE, but he has contributed his sweat and blood to the wrestling business and had a celebrated career just like most of the other superstars on the list.

#3 Mick Foley

Foley is God

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the name, Mick Foley? His Hell in a Cell match with Undertaker right?. Well, that is the problem here. Most of the fans fail to look beyond the daredevil bumps that Foley did during his career.

We don't see Foley as someone who was gold on microphone, or someone who found success with three different gimmicks, or someone who helped put ECW over, or someone who made Sting look good in WCW. We just see him as a glorified stuntman. Foley is beyond that, Foley might not be God, but he is good. And he was good at what he did and calling him a Hardcore legend is probably an insult because the guy was more than hardcore.

He was someone who understood the in-ring psychology, someone who lived his dream, someone who found his limitations and overcame them to be the turning point in Monday Night Wars, Do you need any more reasons to include Foley in the 'Greatest of all time' debates next time around?

#2 Terry Funk

The Funker was more entertaining than anybody from his era

63 promotions and a career that spanned almost five decades. A Hall of Famer, A former NWA World Champion, the man who put ECW in the map. Terry Funk has achieved almost everything he could in his illustrious career, but the sad part is, most of the current fans don’t even know him. If they were to include wrestlers from the past into the 'greatest wrestler' debate, the names poking up would be Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan and some other popular ones.

But not many would speak of Terry Funk. After his debut in 1965, Funk travelled through many storms and nightmares to reach where he is today. Way ahead of his time with his promos and palpable amounts of ‘crazy’, ‘The Funker’ was legitimately the loose cannon before anybody really had thought of coining the term. Anyone working inside the wrestling business would know how much respect this guy deserves and it is only fitting for the fans to show their appreciation as well.

#1 Chris Jericho

The Ayatollah o Rock-n-Rolla

Taking a different route of argument this time around, here are some of the reasons why Jericho deserves to be in this list:

1) He learned from the best wrestling school there was (Hart Dungeon). 2) He travelled all across the world and polished his skills. (John Cena, Stone Cold or Rock cannot boast working in NJPW, CMLL, WCW, ECW and WWE). 3) He defeated Stone Cold and Rock in the same night. 4) He is responsible for arguably the best debut in WWE. 5) He built up a rock star career along with his wrestling career. 6) One of the best talkers in the wrestling business and one of the best in-ring performers as well. 7) Best selling autobiographies.

This list could go on and on just like Jericho's list of holds from WCW (Google that if you don't know). And all this makes Jericho eligible to be considered as one of the greatest wrestlers ever.
