5 WWE feuds that should happen in 2016

A potential mainstream diva storyline

Legend vs. PhenomA New Year comes with new hopes. The situation is no different for the professional wrestling fan. We kick-start our year with the Royal Rumble, then, we go on dreaming about all those storylines that WWE could come up with.Once the year ends, WWE does pull off some storylines while others remain a distant dream. The WWE Universe has many such hopes pinned onto the WWE for 2016 as well. There are some potentially show-stealing feuds that the promotion should implement in 2016.Most of them have the capability of rescuing WWE from their television rating dip and this adds extra significance to them. So, here are those feuds that the WWE fans would love to see in 2016.

#6 Honourable Mention: Paige vs. Stephanie McMahon

A potential mainstream diva storyline

Some time back, we wanted to see a dream feud between AJ Lee and Stephanie McMahon. The prospect of AJ locking horns with Stephanie was exciting, but since AJ decided to retire, it did not materialize.

Paige is the closest thing that WWE has to AJ right now. If they build up Paige as the next cult figure in the divas division, they could spark off a Paige vs. Stephanie feud at some point of the year.

#5 Undertaker vs. John Cena

Legend vs. Phenom

This feud has to happen in 2016.

Undertaker does not have many years ahead of him and Cena is thinking about toning down his schedule as well. The apt time to pull off this feud was a couple of years back, but WWE decided to delay it and we have come to a period of desperation.

It is a now or never situation. This feud, irrespective of the stage in which it will be booked, will draw big money. A major hurdle for the same would be Taker’s health. If Taker keeps himself fit on the longer run, WWE will have no problems in turning this into an epic storyline.

#4 Brock Lesnar vs. Kevin Owens

The Change vs. The Beast

Ever since this match was rumoured for WrestleMania 32, the fans are restless. Kevin Owens, who made his main roster debut in 2015, managed to create a cult following despite playing a heel character.

Brock Lesnar, on the other hand, is the most legitimate wrestler that WWE has in their roster right now. A collision between these two is bound to be an exciting one. Owens will benefit big time if he shares the ring with Lesnar. In addition, with Paul Heyman involved in the feud, it cannot be a flop.

Speaking about the hurdles, WWE’s lack of belief in Owens is the biggest one. Take that away, and nothing can stop this feud.

#3 Roman Reings vs. Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

Three-way feud is what we want

The Shield Triple Threat is a dream scenario.

This idea was bouncing around ever since the Hounds of Justice broke up. We had individual matches and feuds among these three but, in the main roster, they are yet to get involved in a three-way feud.

With Rollins out injured, we might not see this feud until the summer of 2016. However, if they are indeed going to book this one, it should be for the WWE championship. All three men know each other very well and this is going to transform into some valuable in-ring chemistry.

This is good enough to be a multi-PPV feud, so WWE could run it for few months if they want.

#2 Dudley Boyz vs. The Usos

Dream tag team match

This was probably the first match that came across our minds when Dudley Boyz returned.

However, the immense popularity of the New Day and the injuries killed off the momentum. Dudleys then moved into a program with the Wyatt Family and we forgot about this great possibility.

The chances of WWE taking the Tag titles away from New Day in the early months of 2016 are low. This means that if we want a title feud between Usos and Dudleys, we will have to wait until the second half of 2016.

But these two teams could always have a non-title feud. It would be a solid torch passing feud and could yield a great bout in the process.

#1 Roman Reigns vs. Triple H

Triple H can enhance the career of Reigns

Triple H had a major role in turning Roman Reigns into a fan favourite. Initially, Hunter, along with his Evolution friends had a solid match with the Shield. Later, Hunter screwed over Reigns to project him like a fallen warrior.

Both segments did huge favours for Roman Reigns even though they were brief. Now imagine what Triple H could do to the career of Reigns if they are involved in a full-blown storyline.

The possibilities are endless and it will be a major step towards building up Roman Reigns as the next big star. It is the same old Authority vs. Rebel conflict, but it is bound to be effective.

Did we miss out any feuds that would make 2016 great? Tells us about it in the comments section.
