5 WWE Superstars who the company should have released

The WWE shocked the fans when they revealed the release of eleven Superstars including the lights of Drew McIntyre and Brodus Clay.Social media is still buzzing about how the roster was cut short by the company and there has been a lot of criticism on the choices that were made by the company as the fans had high regard for some of the wrestlers released especially McIntyre. The decision has gone down into the book as one of those messed up things WWE creative is known for. While talented names like Clay, Evan Bourne and McIntyre were released there were some others in the roster that deserved to be out of it and here is a look at some of them.

#5 David Otunga

Otunga has been out of the WWE television for a long time now and a majority of the fans have actually forgotten him.

The highest point of Otunga’s career came during his run with the Nexus but he didn’t find any success in the company after that. Otunga might be an average speaker with the microphone but he is miles away from being a great performer inside the ring.

If the company was releasing their superstars on the basis of the talent between the ropes, then Otunga might’ve been long gone by one.

Maybe WWE is keeping Otunga because of the relationship he is having with Jennifer Hudson but beyond that there isn’t any good reason for WWE still having him in the payroll.

#4 Zack Ryder

To be frank, Ryder is one of those wrestlers who could’ve scaled some heights if the WWE groomed him well with some good storylines.

He was well placed for the same too some time back but some bad booking left Ryder in the depths from which it is hard for him to escape now.

Without getting enough in ring time, Ryder actually managed to build a following for him in the Internet but apparently it’s the creative team which decides the path and not the fans.

Ryder has nothing left to do inside the WWE and could find some better direction if he went to the Indy circuit. He could then later return to WWE after burying the current gimmick and run the course that he truly deserves.

#3 Heath Slater

3MB was one of those factions that the WWE fans had some soft corner for even though it was a jobber squad. The trio was entertaining at time and was used well by the company in making other stables look destructive.

However, the company decided to disband the 3MB after they fired Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre leaving Heath Slater as the lone survivor.

Now the big question would be why was he the chosen one?

Well there aren’t many answers to that question as Slater is someone who could drown soon without the buoyancy that 3MB gave him. Slater might find a tag team partner from somewhere but then again, the 3MB chants are going to haunt him and whatever he does in the near future.

#2 Brad Maddox

Maddox started off in the WWE as a wrestler in the development and some genius backstage thought that he would be better suited as an authority figure.

This lead to Maddox becoming one of the worst General Managers that Raw has seen (above the Laptop of course) in its illustrious history.

He was often projected as an emotional puppet of the Authority and didn’t have any direction for himself. And recently he got fired by Hunter but that firing should’ve been in real life rather than being restricted to kayfabe.

Maddox hasn’t proved himself to be a good wrestler in the limited time that he had inside the ring and it’s unlikely that he will succeed with such a past as his baggage.

#1 The Great Khali

Like Brad Pitt said in Money ball, there are wrestlers like Daniel Bryan and wrestlers like John Cena. Then there is 50 feet of crap and then there is the Great Khali.

Khali got a big initial push thanks to the love that Vince McMahon has for big guys. But when the pushed cooled down, the flaws of Khali was exposed to the fans. With such a big structure, Khali barely could walk in between the ropes.

He might be a former World Champion, but Khali practically has nothing left to give the WWE fans.

The myth that he is the reason why WWE has some foothold in the Indian Market might be something which keeps him in the company but Khali was clearly someone who had to leave the company.
