Top 5 transfer rumours of the day

With the World Cup in the summer not very far away, teams are already looking to get a jump on their rivals by finalizing their transfer deals. Here's a look at all the football rumours making the news today.

#1 Man United\'s Evra undecided over future

Manchester United's veteran full back Patrice Evra's agent has claimed that the French International is still undecided over his future. The 32-year-old is believed to be targeted by Paris Saint Germain, Monaco and manyf Serie A clubs.

Evra's contract with Manchester United is due to run out at the end of the season, meaning the former Monaco star will be a free agent this summer if he fails to pen a new deal with the Red Devils.

"Patrice has to decide what to do with his future," Evra's agent said.

"He is very close to United, but lately things have changed a little. Could he come back to Italy? Patrice has always highly regarded Serie A and so, if he were to leave England, it could be a possibility."

"But at the moment it is still too early to talk about next season."

#2 Man City close in on Porto\'s Mangala

According to reports in Portugal, Manchester City are close to signing £20million-rated Porto centre back Eliaquim Mangala. Sources claim City's sporting director Txiki Begiristain is in Porto to finalise the deal for next season before returning to Manchester.

Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United were also interested in signing the 23-year-old defender. Mangala, who was close to signing for Manchester City in January, has been a star performer for Porto for the past two seasons leading the club to back to back Primeira Liga titles.

Mangala is considered as a goal scoring defender and can also play as a left back.

#3 PSG rule out Cavani exit

Paris Saint Germain president has ruled out speculation that their star striker Edinson Cavani is set to leave the club this summer. The Uruguayan International is believed to be unsettled at the French capital, having been played out of position by PSG boss Laurent Blanc.

"Edinson Cavani is important for us. He will be staying," said PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi.

Cavani, who moved from Napoli only last summer for around £50 million, is being targeted by a host of European clubs - with Manchester United and Chelsea leading the chase.

#4 Chelsea to sell Hazard or Oscar

Chelsea are expected to sell all of their four first team strikers after being left frustrated with a lack of goals this season.

However, Blues could be forced to sell either one of their star attacking players Eden Hazard or Oscar to abide by UEFA's Financial Fair Play rule and fund Mourinho's summer spending spree for world class strikers.

The London club have set their sights on Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and Bayern Munich's Mario Mandzukic. They are also targetting Southampton's left back Luke Shaw.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also looking to sell Brazilian defender David Luiz and are also prepared to let Ashley Cole leave this summer.

#5 Man City target Monaco striker Falcao

Manchester City have entered the race to sign Monaco striker Radamel Falcao - hijacking Chelsea's plans of landing the striker. Blues boss Jose Mourinho is a long term admirer of the former Porto and Atletico Madrid star and wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The English giants have reportedly met the striker and his agent in Madrid on Tuesday night to discuss a potential move to the Etihad next season. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was also present for the meeting, with speculations linking Manchester City's striker Kun Aguero with a move to the Spanish capital.

Spanish newspaper Marca also claim that Angel Di Maria's proposed move to Monaco was also discussed in the meeting.
