Top transfer rumours of the day: 29th January 2015

Monday’s 11 pm transfer deadline is not too far away and so we take a look at the transfer stories doing the rounds today. Today’s transfer rumours include Manchester United making a last effort to sign Mat Hummels, Liverpool’s interest in signing German starlet Leonardo Bittencourt, Chelsea keeping an eye on Varane, Arsenal’s shock move for Hugo Lloris, and Real Madrid possibly looking to sell Karim Benzema.The deadline day generally sees a lot of frantic and last-minute signings and as we get closer, rumours of prospective deals will get louder. Here are the top transfer rumours of the day:

#1 Manchester United

According to Daily Star, Serie A club Lazio are interested in signing Javier Hernandez who is on loan at Real Madrid. Reports also suggest that Madrid have no intention of making his move permanent at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail say that Manchester United have offered Stevenage Borough centre back Ryan Johnson a trial. The 18-year-old will be joining United at their Carrington training complex.

Firenzeviola has reported that Manchester United are ready to hijack Chelsea’s deal for Cuadrado after they submitted a €29 million bid. Reports also suggest Adnan Januzaj will be offered on loan as a part of the deal. Chelsea are already in talks to sign the Fiorentina star, but are yet to agree on a fee with the Serie A club.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United could be forced to sell David De Gea at the end of the season if he doesn’t sign a new deal. The 24-year-old’s current deal expires in 18 months and Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in signing the goalkeeper.

Another report in Daily Star suggests Manchester United will make one last effort to sign Mat Hummels from Borussia Dortmund and are ready to make a concrete offer for the defender.

#2 Liverpool

According to reports in German newspaper Bild, Liverpool are interested in signing Leonardo Bittencourt from Hannover 96. There are also suggestions that Borussia Dortmund secured a buy-back clause when he was sold to Hannover 96.

Reports in the Express suggests Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka won’t be signing for AS Roma and will stay at Dnipro till the end of the season. Tottenham and Everton are also interested in signing the 25-year-old winger.

According to Daily Star, Real Madrid star Iker Casillas is heading for North America as he doesn’t want to sign for any other club in Europe. Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be interested in signing the Spaniard.

An exclusive report in Tutto Mercato says Liverpool are in talks to sign Sergio Diaz from Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño. Earlier Spanish newspaper Marca had reported that Liverpool have offered 10 million euros for the talented youngster.

#3 Chelsea

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are closing in on Fiorentina’s winger Juan Cuadrado after agreeing to pay his €35 million release clause. Reports also suggest Fiorentina could sign Mohamed Salah from Chelsea on loan if the Colombian is sold to the Blues.

Daily Star reports Chelsea are interested in signing £5m Spanish wonderkid Dani Ceballos from Real Betis. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the 18-year-old winger.

Express reports Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Andre Schurrle for £27m. Dortmund see Schurrle as the ideal replacement for Reus and this will also fund Chelsea’s move for Juan Cuadrado.

L’Equipe reports Chelsea are keeping an eye on Real Madrid star Raphael Varane who could join the London club in search of more playing time. Varane thinks he is not getting enough playing time at Santiago Bernabéu and is used as a back-up option.

#4 Arsenal

According to L’Equipe, Arsenal might be a possible destination for Hugo Lloris in the summer. Though the deal looks almost impossible, Arsene Wenger will try to get his man in the summer.

Express reports Arsenal and Liverpool might be interested in signing Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk. Earlier, AS Roma’s of £1.5 million for an initial loan move with a future purchase option of £5 million was rejected by Shakhtar.

According to reports in Fichajes.net, Real Madrid are ready to sell Karim Benzema to Arsenal to fund moves for English young stars Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane. Raheem Sterling is yet to agree a new deal with the Merseyside outfit and could be on his way to Santiago Bernabéu.

According to reports, Arsenal and Liverpool target Jackson Martinez will prefer a move to Serie A if he leaves Porto. The Colombian international is on the wishlist of top European clubs and a switch to Premier League now looks unlikely.

Another report in the Express suggests Arsenal are ready to match the £13.5 m release clause for Jose Luis Gaya. The 19-year-old left back is also a transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

#5 Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid

Metro reports Real Madrid are interested in signing Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur and are ready to sell Karim Benzema to fund a move. The 21-year-old has scored 18 goals in 26 games this season.

According to Talksport, Real Madrid lead the race to sign Valencia left-back Jose Luis Gaya. Arsenal are also interested in the 19-year-old left-back but are not willing to pay £17 million for his services.

Reports suggest Atletico Madrid star Koke has ruled out a move to Liverpool, Arsenal or Manchester United, after declaring he sees himself playing for the Atletico Madrid for the rest of his career and has no intention of leaving his boyhood club.
