With Chelsea leading the Premier League table and Arsenal dealing with a lack of defenders, there ought to be some transfer activity. By looking at the reports pouring in every day, one can say that the rumour mills have not rested for even a second.Lets take a look at the most recent transfer rumours surrounding the top clubs.

#1 Arsenal

William Carvalho is most wanted on Arsenal’s list

As reports suggest, Arsenal plans to finalize a deal worth £3.5 million for Legia Warsaw’s Krystian Bielik. Arsene Wenger hopes that the deal will be concluded by the end of January. The Gunners’ initial bid has been reportedly rejected by Legia but the club plan to send officials to negotiate terms.

Portuguese midfielder WIlliam Carvalho revealed that his dream was to play in England. Reports suggest that this has motivated Arsenal to continue their pursuit for the player. The initial bid of £15m was rejected by Sporting Lisbon as they put a tag of £30m for the player. Super agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly trying to negotiate a deal between the two clubs with Arsenal willing to pay up to £20m.

Reports today also suggest that the Gunners have potential interest in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The rumoured bid for settling the deal is £15.6m. The reports add that the officials of the corresponding clubs are planning a meeting to discuss it further.

#2 Manchester United and Liverpool

As reports suggest, Liverpool are willing to provide a contract extension to all senior players starting with Martin Skrtel. Brendan Rodgers is keen on keeping the core group of the club together. Skrtel has been in Liverpool for seven years and is left with 18 monthsin his current contract.

Manchester United are planning to offer a contract to Kayne Diedrick-Roberts after the 15-year-old was released from Fulham. The London club released the striker because they seem to already have three other strikers of his age. The Red Devils believe that the young player has a lot of scope for improvement as he can play as a winger, second striker or a midfielder.

Liverpool’s midfielder Lucas Leiva might sign for Napoli if the Gunners manage to acquire Fabian Delph. Officials at Anfield are leading the race for Aston Vila’s midfielder whose contract at Villa Park will expire this summer. Former Reds boss Rafael Benitez has been chasing Lucas’ signature for over a year and might be successful this summer.

Jay Rodriguez could arrive at Ethiad for £20m

Carles Gil’s transfer to Aston Villa seems to have hit a blockade due to agent fees. As reports suggest, the proposed deal comprised of a transfer fee of £3.25m and 5-year contract. The club officials have made no official announcement regarding the transfer but are confident of getting it done.

Incoming reports today also suggest that Manchester City might consider a £20m bid for Jay Rodriguez. The Southampton striker is also on the radar of Liverpool and Tottenham but City seems keen on beating them to Rodriguez’s signature. Reports have also added that the striker has been offered to extend his stay at St Mary’s Stadium.

Reports in Italy suggest that Manchester City’s Stevan Jovetic has been offered a loan deal from Juventus. City are willing to sell Jovetic to build up a small part of Bony’s fee but Juventus are interested only in a loan deal as the price quoted for a permanent deal by Manchester City has been reported as “excessive” by the latter.

Marco Reus is Jose Mourinho’s No1 target in summer

Chelsea are planning to sell Andre Schurrle to make room for Dortmund’s Marco Reus. Reports suggest that Wolfsburg is keen on shelling out £23m to sign Andre Schurrle. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has set his eyes on Marco Reus and expects to complete the transfer deal this summer.

Real Madrid’s Alvaro Arbeloa has rejected Chelsea’s and Arsenal’s transfer offers as he wishes to go back to his former club. Reports are saying that the defender has grown frustrated at the Santiago Bernabeu this season. He is desperate for a return to Anfield as Carlo Ancelotti made Dani Carvajal his first choice as a right back.

Sissoko says that Arsenal is the club of his heart

Serie A club Lazio are interested in signing Ravel Morrison from West Ham. He has been told that he can leave the club for free in January. The player has reportedly had a dispute with his club after he did not receive his full wages of £60,000 for December.

Croatian striker Andrej Kramaric may soon make a £9.5 million transfer to Leicester City from Rejika after the Professional Footballers’ Association approved the his work permit application. As reports suggest, Kramaric has agreed to terms with Leicester and has been offered a three-and-a-half year deal.

Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko has managed to fuel the rumours over him moving to Arsenal after he expressed the possibility of leaving Newcastle. In an interview with Telefoot, the midfielder said, “England remains my priority. If (Arsenal boss) Arsene Wenger calls me? We will have a discussion man to man. Arsenal has always been the club of my heart”.
