Part-time players the WWE advocates

Ever since the PG era began, the WWE has lost some of its top stars. Some have left the company in pursuit of challenges elsewhere whereas others have departed owing to commitments of their own. All in all, this led to conventional wrestling fans losing interest in the show owing to lack of veterans and. The WWE hence hatched an interesting plot wherein they bring in these veterans to wrestle part-time to satisfy the needs of yesteryear fans as well as bring new twists to the storylines. This move has indeed been successful, and let us now take a look at some of the popular veterans the WWE advocates.

#1 Brock Lesnar

The return of Brock Lesnar created more frenzy in the WWE than any other event in the recent past. Lesnar left the company in 2003 to pursue interest elsewhere and returned after a long hiatus to become one of the most dominating in ring performers in recent WWE history.

He started feuds against the likes of Cena, Triple H and CM Punk before graduating to beat the likes of The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Lesnar ending the un-conquerable streak of the Undertaker shows you how much the WWE invests on these part-time superstars.

From what we know, he earns a astronomical sum of money to make his limited set of appearances and this investment is a sureshot worthy one to say the last.

#2 Chris Jericho

When it is December or early January, rumour mills churn out news about how a certain superstar will most likely make a quick return to the ring during Royal Rumbles. That certain individual we are talking about is Chris Jericho 99 times out of a 100.

Ever since being engaged with his band “Fozzy’, Jericho has hardly found time to balance his WWE act. Hence, the WWE are kind enough to accommodate him in a short storyline spanning around a month or two which also includes a couple of PPV appearances.

Jericho is a top notch performer and is bound to give you some classical matches. The WWE utilizes him to push some mid card talents to the next level based on clashes driven around ego and pride. CM Punk, Fandango etc are some of the talents that have utilized this privilage.

The charismatic ‘Ayotallah of Rock n Rolla’ is bound to make a return soon and it will be interesting to see whom he is pitched against.

#3 The Rock

This is one investment that will never backfire. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, one of WWE’s hottest commodities ever is next on the list.

After making sporadic appearences here and there, the Rock surprisingly returned for a full fledged feud with John Cena. Despite his unbelievably busy schedule, The Rock has managed to make a host of recent appearences in the WWE spanning over two Wrestlemanias.

From hosting the event to becoming the WWE champion by the next one, The Rock left no stone unturned in enthralling a new generation of fans who have probably never seen him in the ring. He pulled the relevance out of John Cena, something that the WWE has never before dared to do.

All in all, he is bound to make more returns in the WWE and this is one ‘part time’ player you need to surely watch out for.

#4 The Undertaker

How often do you have over a million fans around the world waiting for one news? The news that the Undertaker is indeed making a Wrestlemania appearance to defend his streak.

Such is the magnitude of this persona we call ‘The Undertaker’, a superstar who has been the sole torch bearer for the WWE for over two decades. A superstar that has made Wrestlemania his playing field and has over the years decimated anyone that has even come close to ending his streak.

He is surely the ‘must watch’ guy that has ever stepped foot into the WWE. What he has on his side is a fanbase and tenure like no other. What he doesn’t have is age. Over the years, all his bouts have taken a physical toll on the dead man and he is now a days restricted to only wrestle at the mania.

With his streak ending in an unsuspecting manner, will the Undertaker ever make further appearences in the ring is left for all to be seen. But in case he does, he is sure to thrill the guts out of everybody.

#5 Ric Flair

With charisma, swagger and a hella lotta technical skills on his side, Ric Flair has been one of the most sought after stars in the recent past.

After his stint with TNA, Flair again made a return to the WWE on various occasions. He has been one of those superstars that has wrestled beyond what his age permits him to do and he still seems to have ‘got it’.

When not wrestling, Flair is an ambassidor to the WWE and promotes the company like no other. He is a part of all their major non-wrestling stints and also actively appears as a panelist on many PPV’s. He was recently seen as a part of the Authority vs Shield feud and might play a key role in future.

From your Old school RAW’s to your legends reunion and video game releases, Flair is a sureshot attendee and the WWE advocates Flair like none other.
