Top WWE rumors of the week and analysis: 8 June, 2014

The rumor-hungry fans in the WWE universe completely missed out the Seth Rollins swerve this week as it was not even in the script of Raw. It however didnt hold back the amount of rumors that came from the internet. Most of them were about how WWE was planning to book their top stars in the upcoming pay-per-views while some gave the fans a lot to be concerned about. Before we get to see an array of new rumors next week, here is a look at the most interesting ones that came across last week and how they would impact the WWE.

#5 Sting offered basic legends deal

The WWE seems in no hurry to have Sting abroad as the fans are slowly starting to forget that he is a big deal after all.

Arguably the last nail in the dreams of Sting to have a big debut in WWE proved to be the deal offered by WWE. According to various rumors the deal offered was a basic legends deal with basic bonuses.

Since the WWE is sky high on pushing their younger talents, the move makes a lot of sense. At the same time, the streak ending was a big blow for the same as the dream match between Undertaker and Sting lost its entire aura after being delayed so much.

#4 Rusev to feud with Cena

Rusev’s character is becoming stale among the WWE fans as they are done seeing him squashing everyone that comes in his way.

That might soon change as there are rumors that the company is planning to have Rusev face John Cena in the near future. It will be a big step for Rusev if this happens to be but it’s hard to predict how it will affect his career.

Recently, Bray Wyatt got a lot of exposure by facing Cena but he also had a lot to give than just the in ring skills. Rusev still has a lot of departments which could be improved making it too early for him.

Some years back, WWE gave Umaga a similar push which ended him up in the midcard after a good phase. Rusev might walk the same path but Lana by his side is a good sign unlike the case with Umaga.

#3 Daniel Bryan recovering slowly

For everyone who wanted to see their biggest underdog hero return soon, this rumor turned out to be a big blow.

It was reported that Bryan’s road to recovery is longer than expected. He apparently is also losing strength in his hand which indicates the seriousness of the situation.

Bryan will only have to wrestle at Money in the Bank now against Kane, but the company was unsure whether he will make it in time. This was also the reason why John Cena had some friction with Kane as WWE sees Cena as a backup plan if Bryan doesn’t make it back in time.

#2 Plans for Brock Lesnar

As for now, the only thing we know about the status of Brock Lesnar is that he will be wrestling at SummerSlam but plans for his opponent is still unknown with Daniel Bryan and Cesaro being the top contenders.

The fans would love to see Daniel Bryan having a feud with Lesnar especially after recovering from a career threatening injury as it raises the stake for him.

Cesaro meanwhile would have less than 6 months together with Paul Heyman if he is trusted into a feud with Lesnar. The match is going to be something great for his career but it’s still early days for Cesaro who needs to grow slowly.

Also, the company could make Cesaro cash in the Money in the Bank after Lesnar wins the title against Daniel Bryan giving a great triple threat match down the lane.

#1 Rollins being booked against Shield members at next PPVs

Without much surprise the swerve of Seth Rollins gave the biggest rumor this week. The internet was buzzing about the possible direction that Rollins will be presented with after his backstab and this one made a lot of sense.

According to the rumors the WWE is planning to book Seth Rollins against Dean Ambrose in Money in the Bank and then Roman Reigns in Battleground.

It looks to be a good thing if the company could engage Reigns in some good match at MITB and same way for Ambrose at Battleground.

Rollins could also get a win against Ambrose and fall for Reigns if the company wants to see Reigns face Triple H at SummerSlam making it a flexible situation for everyone.
