WrestleMania is considered the granddaddy of pay-per-views. WrestleMania fever is gripping the entire WWE Universe. With only a few days left for WrestleMania 31, everybody is eagerly waiting for the grandest stage of them all.This WrestleMania will surely be one for the ages with great matches like Sting vs HHH and Reigns vs Lesnar in store for the fans. So lets look back at the 10 best WrestleMania PPVs of all time that have entertained the fans and left a long lasting impression.

#10 Wrestlemania

The list would be meaningless without mentioning the inaugural WrestleMania. Without the first edition being successful there would not have been any more editions. WrestleMania was held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The show saw Wendi Richter defeating Leilani Kai for the WWF Women's Championship and Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik defeating The U.S. Express (Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham) for the WWF Tag Team Championship.

Thw main event featured a Tag team match between Hulk Hogan and Mr.T against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff with Muhammad Ali and Pat Pattersonas the special guest referees. Hogan and Mr. T defeated Piper and Orndorff after Bob Orton mistakenly hit Orndorff and Hogan pinned him to win the match.

#9 WrestleMania X8

WrestleMania 18 was held at the SkyDome inToronto, Ontario. It was the second time that WrestleMania was held outside th USA.

The undercard featured matches like The Undertaker vs Ric Flair and Stone Cold vs Scott Hall.

The highlight of the PPV was The Rock vs Hulk Hogan in a match dubbed "Icon vs. Icon". The Rock pinned Hogan and won the match after hitting the People's Elbow.

The main event saw the Undisputed Championship match between Chris Jericho and Triple H. HHH hit the Pedigree on Jericho for the win and became the new Undisputed Champion.

#8 WrestleMania XII

WrestleMania 12 took place Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California. The event is famous for WWE’s first ever 60 min Iron Man Match.

The show featured the famous Hollywood Backlot Brawl between Roddy Piper and Goldust. Other matches were Stone Cold vs Savio Vega and The Undertaker vs Diesel. The Ultimate Warrior made his return defeating Hunter Hearst Helmsley.

The main event was Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship in a Iron Man Match. The match saw exhilarating action with neither man scoring a pinfall for the 60 minutes leading to Overtime and Michaels winning with the Superkick. It was considered as the one of the best performances of Michaels which gave him the title ‘Mr WrestleMania’.

#7 WrestleMania X

The tenth edition of WrestleMania took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It is most remembered for the inaugural Ladder Match.

The show kicked off with the classic Owen vs Bret Hart. The match was considered by many as best opening match in professional wrestling history. Followed by Randy Savage defeating Crush in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

The event featured not one but two WWF Championship matches. The first match saw Yokozuna defeating Lex Luger by disqualification with Mr. Perfect as the special guest referee . Later in the main event Yokozuna defended his championship again this time against Bret Hart with Roddy Piper as the special guest referee . Hart defeated Yokozuna for the WWF Championship.

The highlight of the PPV was Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon in a Ladder match for the Undisputed WWF Intercontinental Championship.The match was won by Razor Ramon. It was declared Match of the Year.

#6 WrestleMania XXV

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania took place at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. With an attendance of more than 72000.

The event featured CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank Match, Matt Hardy winning an Extreme Rules match against his brother Jeff, Rey Mysterio defeating JBL in 21 seconds for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and John Cena defeating Edge and The Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The highlight of the PPV was Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker which was a five star spectacular. It was declared the Match of the Year.

In the main event HHH defeated Randy Orton for the WWE Championship

#5 WrestleMania XIV

WrestleMania 14 took place at the FleetCenter in Boston, Massachusetts.The event is famous for the involvement of boxer Mike Tyson.

The undercard featured great matches like Triple H vs Owen Hart for the WWF European Championship, The Rock vs Ken Shemrock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and The Undertaker vs Kane for the first time.

The main event saw Stone Cold defeating Shawn Michaels for WWF Championship in which Mike Tyson was the special guest enforcer.

Originally Tyson was In Michaels corner but later he double-crossed him making a quick three count for Austin. After the match Tyson delivered a knockout punch to Michaels. Autin’s WWF Championship win is cited as the beginning of the Attitude Era which makes WrestleMania 14 special.

#4 WrestleMania XXX

The thirtieth annual WrestleMania was held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana with more than 75000 fans in attendance.

The event saw the inaugural Andre the Giant Battle Royal which was won by Cesaro. Matches like Triple H vs Daniel Bryan, Cena vs Wyatt were great.

The highlight of the PPV was when Brock Lesnar broke The Undertaker’s undefeated streak. It was described as "one of the most shocking and depressing moments in WWE history"

The main event featured Randy Orton defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Batista and Bryan which Bryan won after Batista tap out to the Yes! Lock. WrestleMania 30 was easily one of the best Manias of the last ten years.

#3 WrestleMania III

WrestleMania 20 was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was the third WrestleMania to be held at MSG.

Billed as “Bigger! Better! Badder!” WrestleMania 3 was held at Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan with a record attendance of 93,173.

Though Hogan vs Andre was the main attraction the event featured Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat for the WWF Intercontinental Championship. This match is considered by many to be one of the greatest matches in WWE history.

The main event saw the Irresistible force meeting the Immovable object. Hulk Hogan battled Andre the Giant for the WWF Championship. The match in which Hulk bodyslams Andre to retain the championship was surely a moment to remember.

#2 WrestleMania XX

The event featured the WrestleMania debut of John Cena. The undercard had great matches like Jericho vs Christian, Evolution vs The Rock 'n' Sock Connection, Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar and Steve Austin being the special guest referee.The event also featured the return of The Undertaker.

The two main event matches saw Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship which Guerrero won after a small package.

Then the Triple Threat match for The World Heavyweight Championship between Triple H, Chris Benoit, and Shawn Michaels which Benoit won after HHH tapped to Crippler Crossface.

After the match, Eddie Guerrero and Benoit celebrated while confetti dropped for the emotional ending of WrestleMania XX.

#1 WrestleMania X-Seven

Considered as the best Pay-Per-View event of all time WrestleMania 17 took place at Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas. With the attendance of more than sixty seven thousand ,the show was nothing short of spectacular.

The event featured classics like Shane vs Vince in a Streetfight, Angle facing Benoit and HHH facing The Undertaker in singles matches, TLC II for WWF Tag Team Championship and the main event being Steve Austin vs The Rock in a No Disqualification match for the WWF Championship.

The main event was very entertaining back and forth match but the highlight of the PPV was Vince McMahon handing Austin a steel chair to hit Rock with sixteen consecutive times to win the WWF Championship.

McMahon and Austin then shook hands and drank beers to celebrate.
