#10 Brock Lesnar ending the Streak

The Undertaker’s 21-0 streak at WrestleMania was the longest and greatest streak in sports entertainment. The Phenom faced 17 opponents in these 21 matches but none could overcome the Phenom at WrestleMania. But last year at WrestleMania 30, The Beast- Brock Lesnar ended this streak with dominance.

He shocked the WWE Universe by ending the streak with a vicious F-5 on Taker and became the one in 21-1. This was regarded as one of the biggest accomplishments in WWE.

#9 Most WrestleMania losses

Triple H always tries to give the WWE Universe, What’s best for business. But he never got what’s best for him on the grandest stage. HHH appeared in 18 WM matches and lost 10 of them, managing to win the remaining 8. A less that 50% win rate for a superstar of HHH’s rank is quite astonishing.

WWE always gave the best to their superstars at WM. HHH, unfortunately, could not get that luxury of being successful at this particular PPV. His recent loss coming at WM 30 against Daniel Bryan.

#8 No Singles Match at WrestleMania 16

At WrestleMania XVI something peculiar happened. There was no one-on-one match in the entire PPV. The 9 scheduled matches were all tag matches, battle royal and fatal 4 way matches but there was no hint of a singles match.

This is the first time ever in WWE PPV history that the match card of a PPV consisted of no singles matches.

#7 Match Duration records: Longest and shortest

In terms of the duration of the match, the match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart at WrestleMania 12 stands out as the longest match in Mania history. This match for the WWF Championship went on for a gruelling 1:01:52 and Michaels emerged victorious.

This ‘Iron Man’ match went down the wire as one of the most physically draining matches in WWE.

The match between Kane and Chavo Guerrero at WrestleMania 24 has also gained prominence in terms of the match duration but in the opposite way. This was the shortest match in Mania history. This match for the ECW title lasted for only 0:11 and Kane won the match by delivering a Choke Slam to Chavo and won the title.

#6 Only one WrestleMania without a World Title defence

Can you imagine a WrestleMania without a World title match?

In all the 30 editions of this PPV, only on one occasion there was no World Title match. This happened at the inaugural WrestleMania, WM 1. Heading into this PPV, the friendship that sprouted between the World Champion, Hulk Hogan and Mr. T prevented this from happening. This made Paul Orndoff and Rowdy Roddy Piper irate.

So, this Mania featured a match between Hogan/Mr. T and Orndoff/Roddy Piper in which the former managed to beat the latter convincingly.

#5 61 different types of Matches

Singles match, Triple threat, Fatal 4 way, Battle Royal and more.

The list rolls on and you know what, WrestleMania has had a total of 61 different types of matches so far. This PPV has been visually delighting the WWE fans over the years with its wide spectrum of matches featuring different superstars.

The list includes rare matches like Hair vs Hair, Heel vs Heel, Face vs Face, etc.

#4 2 Title losses in the same night

Losing a title at Wrestlemania is something one doesn’t wish for. If that happens twice in the same night, that would be a nightmare.

Kurt Angle lost two titles at WM 16- IC title and European title.

Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit were involved in a 2 out of 3 falls count match and Jericho won the European title in the first fall and Benoit won the IC title in the 2nd fall leaving Angle empty handed at the end of the night.

This is the only time in the history where a superstar lost both his titles on the same night.

#3 Most WrestleMania main events

Main eventing WrestleMania is ‘The Dream’ of every WWE superstar. If that dream becomes a reality time and again for 8 times, what would you call that?

This feat was achieved by “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan. He features in a record, eight WM main events. He faced great opponents like Andre The Giant, Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior.

All in all, Hogan fought in 11 matches at WrestleMania and won eight of them losing the other 3. 8/11 main event ratio is pretty high and a record till date.

#2 Triple Threat Matches for World Title

Remember last year’s main event?

Daniel Bryan shocked the world by defeating Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match and won the WWE World Heavyweight title. There have been only four instances in WM history, where the World Title match was held as a triple threat.

The other three were Rey Mysterio winning the WHC at WrestleMania 22 against Randy Orton and Kurt Angle, John Cena winning the WHC at WrestleMania 25 from Big Show and Edge and Christ Benoit winning the WWE title at WrestleMania 20 against Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

#1 Most WrestleMania appearances and wins

You definitely know who I am talking about. The name most wrestling fans consider synonymous with WrestleMania. Yes! It’s the Phenom- The Undertaker.
