5 biggest winners of Wrestlemania 31

Many criticized the build-up for the biggest show of the year, but Wrestlemania 31 was without a doubt one of greatest most impressive mania of recent years (and arguably of all time).A collection of surprise appearances, shocking results, spectacular moments, amazing matches and other fantastic moments helped produce an event worthy to be known as the grandest stage of them all. The show surpassed all expectations and most certainly left the majority of fans satisfied.Let’s take a look now at 5 of the biggest winners of Wrestlemania 31.

#6 Honorable mention: Ronda Rousey

One huge moment that made a non-WWE performer almost one of the biggest mania winners was UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey stepping inside a WWE ring for the first time ever.

An avid WWE fan and undefeated MMA fighter, Ronda Rousey stepped in the ring alongside The Rock to stand up to The Authority. She took Triple H down before knocking Stephanie McMahon down as well. The fans were definitely happy to see her.

Hopefully, this will lead to her making future appearances, maybe even a SummerSlam (or mania match) against Stephanie.

#5 Brock Lesnar

Despite losing the match and his WWE championship, Brock Lesnar still came out looking like an absolute beast and still hasn’t been pinned since conquering the Undertakers undefeated mania streak.

Lesnar completely destroyed Roman Reigns and officially introduced him to ‘Suplex City’. Reigns took the pinfall loss to Rollins (thanks to his money in the bank cash in) so Lesnar still comes out of Wrestlemania 31 looking extremely strong.

Lesnar may have lost the WWE World Heavyweight championship, but he still looked very dominant!

#4 Triple H

Almost everyone (including myself) assumed that Sting would without a doubt win his first ever match in WWE by pinning The Game, Triple H. However HHH shocked everyone and no one could have predicted the epic event that would transpire.

HHH first came out making an awesome terminator entrance before the amazing bout begun. Sting and Trips traded offense and interferences from DX/NWO made the audience erupt.

The most shocking point however came when Sting lined up for a Stinger Splash but the king of kings smashed the vigilante in the face with half a sledgehammer (for some reason this didn’t result in a DQ, but who really cares).

#3 Daniel Bryan

Yes! Yes! Yes! Daniel Bryan might not have been in the main event title match at this year’s Wrestlemania instead opening the show. However, he still managed to steal the show (along with the other 6 ladder match competitors) and won his first ever Intercontinental Championship.

The entire ladder match showdown was an impressive spectacle from starts to finish which eventually saw Ziggler and Bryan fighting it out with headbutts towards the end.

Bryan came out victorious thus collecting his first ever IC title in what was an awesome match.

#2 Randy Orton

Randy Orton battled Rollins in a very impressive match early on which proved he still has so much to offer the company still at such a fairly young age. Orton and Rollins went back and forth trading impressive high-risk, high-impact moves.

Orton scored the pinfall with an amazing reversal of the curb stomp into an RKO. The importance of Orton’s win here was intensified when Rollins cashed into the win the WWE championship.

The Viper now has a pinfall victory of the WWE champion, potentially now inserting himself into the main event picture again.

#1 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins may have lost his scheduled bout to Randy Orton, but he still managed to walk out the biggest winner by far of Wrestlemania 31 thanks to his money in the bank briefcase.

Lesnar and Reigns had destroyed each other in the main event and were struggling to even stand. That’s when the Architect cemented his legacy as the future by interrupting mid match and inserting himself (thus making it a triple threat) by cashing in his briefcase.

Reigns speared Lesnar, Rollins curb stomped Reigns for the win and officially immortalised himself becoming the first person to ever cash in at Wrestlemania while also propelling himself to the top of the card by capturing the WWE championship.

This was by far the biggest moment of Rollin’s career and will be remembered for many years to come.
