The surprising entrants may or may not win but the beauty of it all is the kind of reaction it gets from the attentive audience at the arena. It gets the fans buzzing and it, needless to mention, gets WWE trending worldwide. Here are the 5 highly unexpected entrants in the Royal Rumble match

#5 Sami Zayn

Zayn hasn’t yet announced that he’ll be at the Rumble.

He’s one of the few performers who have made NXT what it is today. The Canadian native has been the go-to guy for NXT for far too long.

An injury kept him away from the spotlight for the most part of last year, but even after that, 2015 was monumental with the mere fact that this guy had one of the best feuds ever in the WWE realm with Kevin Owens.

Also, he was majorly protected in his splendid match against John Cena in his hometown in Canada on Raw for the US Title.

Zayn is expected to face Balor at Takeover: Dallas before Mania and is also expected to make the main roster jump on Raw the next night. What better way to remind the main roster audience about yourself than participating in the Rumble and looking great while you’re at it.

#4 Finn Balor

A Balor appearance on the main roster will be spectacular

NXT will make its presence felt in some way or another. It has done so in the past few years, but this situation can actually be used to start a storyline. NXT is so good with storylines that this is worth a try.

How about Finn Balor entering the Rumble first. He is followed by Sami Zayn entering the Rumble as well. How does Zayn eliminating Balor sound? That will set the feud perfectly for Takeover: Dallas.

That will also set the stage perfectly for a Balor heel turn later on in NXT. This can be great if given thought and effort.

#3 Nia Jax

Jax can make history at the Rumble.

Till date, only 3 women have entered the Royal Rumble match and they were all women who were built a certain way. Tall and brawny women, they all were. This includes Chyna, Beth Phoenix and Kharma. These are the only 3 women who’ve participated in the Rumble match.

Someday Nia Jax may become a part of that historic list, but since she’s still injured storyline wise after here defeat to Bayley, she may not participate this year – but if she does, it’ll still be glorious.

#2 Daniel Bryan

Been far too long since we saw him wrestle

Nobody knows the exact state of Daniel Bryan’s injury. For quite some time, it has been speculated that he’s not clear to wrestle. That, though, is the WWE point of view.

According to Bryan, he’s quite healthy and ready to put his boots back on but at the moment his status is clearly up in the air, so much so that there were rumors that Bryan could be released by the company.

It’s pretty easy to say that the fans are quite confused about the entire Bryan situation. So if he finally does turn up at the Rumble, it’ll be a huge moment. Completely out of the blue is what it will be.

#1 Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe participating in the Rumble match will be quite something.

Samoa Joe signed onto NXT and immediately became a superstar to watch out for, but his future on the main roster was still up in the air.

Fast forward to the present scenario of where things are and he has very seamlessly taken the reins of being the best heel of the promotion from Kevin Owens. His promos are absolutely natural and effective. His wrestling style is stiff and very much in tandem of his ‘tough guy’persona.

A main roster push is far fetched but an appearance in the Rumble will, no doubt, be a major mark out moment.
