5 Possible angles for The Rock at WrestleMania 32

A surprise match is likely

Could we see this?WrestleMania 32 got a lot more interesting when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced that he was going to be there for the event.Rock’s announcement cleared all the uncertainty regarding his appearance and it is a good thing for Vince McMahon and his company. The catch however is – we only know that he is going to appear at WrestleMania – with the exact role of the Rock being kept a secret. A star performer like The Rock should be put to good use by WWE because, even if the show bombs, Rock’s appearance is something that the fans will remember.WWE does have some options that they could use and here is a look at them.

#6 Honorable mention: A surprise match

A surprise match is likely

The chance of Rock being involved in a surprise match cannot be counted out.

He could simply come out and work a match at WrestleMania, but the problem with this is the star power. Rock is a big name and not advertising his match before the event is not something WWE would do, but we never know.

#5 Setting the stage for a new star

It will be a great introduction

The main roster is set to see a host of new additions in 2016.

Some NXT talents and new signings are bound to make their debut this year. All these additions have to make an impactful first impression and getting introduced by the Brahma Bull will probably be second to none.

To get a hang of the scenario, imagine Finn Balor making his main roster debut after being introduced by The Rock. Good, right? Not only does it serve the purpose of Balor’s debut, but it also gives the NXT champion a great platform and some mainstream attention.

Anyone involved with the Rock at WrestleMania is going to get such benefits and WWE will be aware of this.

#4 Introducing the Hall of Famers

The HOF class deserves it

The 2016 class of Hall of Fame is going to be an interesting one.

WWE could add big names into the mix and like the years that passed by, there will be plenty of emotional speeches. The Hall of Fame ceremony is held on the day before WrestleMania. The class, however, gets introduced on WrestleMania night at some part of the show.

Usually, WWE simply introduces the legends – but this year, they could try something different and let Rock introduce the class.

All the legends that will be inducted into the class deserve such an introduction and all of us would love to see Rock share the ring with some big names from the past.

#3 Special guest referee for main event

A dramatic referee

From the looks of it, the WrestleMania 32 main event could boast of Roman Reigns.

He is the reigning WWE champion right now is unlikely to drop the title before Mania. The Royal Rumble winner vs. Roman Reigns match is somewhat guaranteed. As the Authority will back whoever faces Reigns, the odds will be stacked against the Samoan Superman.

To level up the field, WWE could introduce Rock as the special guest referee. We’ve seen Steve Austin successfully portray the role on different occasions and Rock could do something similar.

Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are against Reigns at the moment so if WWE wants to book Rock as the special guest referee, they will have to bring in another powerful McMahon, preferably Shane.

#2 Helping Roman Reigns

Cousin to the rescue

WWE implemented this idea at the 2015 Royal Rumble and it bombed big time.

The reason for this was the inclusion of Daniel Bryan. If Bryan was not in the Rumble, it would have been a different scenario. At WrestleMania, the odds are going to be stacked against Reigns.

League of Nations will surely get involved and so will the Authority. Reigns will require backup and Rock could be great for the role. While The Usos and Dean Ambrose could deal with the League of Nations, Rock could come out and deal with Triple H – which is also the theme of our last slide.

#1 Setting up the main event for WrestleMania 33

Could we see this?

WWE works around WrestleMania.

They plan from one WrestleMania to another and at WrestleMania 32; they could sow the seeds for WrestleMania 33. Most likely, Rock is not going to wrestle at WrestleMania 32; however, he could main event the show next year.

If Rock announces his intentions and sets up a match this year, a one-year buildup would do wonders for the company. The possible opponents for Rock include Triple H, Brock Lesnar, or even a third bout with John Cena. Rock and Cena are tied at 1-1 and a tie-breaker might attract mainstream fans.

But from a storyline point of view, a match between Rock and Triple H would be more interesting.
