Following the success of the Austin podcasts with Vince McMahon and Triple H, WWE decided to freshen things up by having Chris Jericho bring his podcast to the WWE Network following Monday Night Raw.His guest for the special edition of his podcast was the newly crowned United States Champion, John Cena. The interview/podcast revealed a lot of interesting information about Cena, Jericho, Rock and the inner workings of the WWE.Lets take a look now at 8 interesting things we discovered from the Jericho/Cena podcast.

#1 Admits real heat with The Rock

There have been numerous previous reports about Rock/Cena having real heat and once again Cena officially confirmed that there was indeed real heat between the two.

He speaks about the two having different visions for their feud. Cena also says at one stage The Rock was pissed due to Cena calling him out for having a promo written on his arm.

Cena also says he didn’t want to make Rock look foolish by calling him out but instead he was just trying to step up his game.

However, Cena still says that it was always kept professional between the two and that’s what he respected most.

#2 Cena watches NXT

NXT has become one of the most interesting and exciting parts of the entire WWE product. It was reported recently that Vince McMahon attended his first NXT event and was very impressed. During the podcast it was also revealed that one of the company’s top stars, John Cena, also pays attention to the developmental program.

Cena said he watches NXT when he can and states the most interesting thing about NXT is the steam the brand is building. They talk about how they are now also putting on live NXT events.

#3 Cena\'s fave match

Jericho asks Cena what his favourite match is and Cena replies that it is always his next one.

He also talks about his first match with The Rock being the perfect fit for the year long build up. Cena says he thought that match was much better than he expected.

It’s interesting to note that Cena looks at stepping up his game every time he steps in the ring to create a better match.

Please feel free to comment below what was your favourite John Cena match. Personally I loved his encounter with CM Punk at Night of Champions 2012.

#4 Jericho & Cena are close friends

Throughout the entire podcast/interview the atmosphere was very chilled. The two appeared very comfortable with each other and seemed to indeed be very close friends instead of just work colleagues.

They talked about travelling on the road together and Jericho stated that Cena was the only guy that could drink him under the table. Cena also says they had a lot of good times.

So it appears that John Cena and Chris Jericho are actually fairly close friends who obviously get along very well as expressed throughout the interview.

#5 Mt. Rushmore of wrestling

Who would be the faces of the Mt. Rushmore of pro wrestling has been a centre of discussion and debate for many fans alike.

Chris Jericho stated that he believed the Mt. Rushmore of WWE in the modern era has been Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Hulk Hogan and John Cena. Cena says he doesn’t know who the faces of Rushmore should be.

Cena also praised Reigns heavily calling him an absolute star.

What four performers would you include on the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling?

#6 Cena has never taken performance enhancing drugs

Jericho asked Cena fairly directly whether he has ever taken any performance enhancing drugs and the answer was simple, ‘no’.

Cena was a bodybuilder before he became a professional wrestler and he said that he was fortunate to be surrounded by good people during his bodybuilder career and also stated that all his competitions were drug tested anyways.

He speaks about how he got big in high school and has been big ever since. Cena also talks about how a lot of people will just think anyone who is big uses steroids.

#7 Regal told him to get \'real boots\'

Cena says he was a big fan of the Attitude Era like everyone else was as well. He says WWE have plenty of talented individuals but he thinks that many are afraid to take a chance.

Cena talks about at one point looking up to William Regal and became a big fan of the European style that guys like Finlay and Regal worked.

Cena then talks about dark match he once had that was very bad and stunk up the place. He said after he came backstage and apparently asked William Regal for feedback. Regal told him to get a real pair of boots so he would at least look like a real wrestler.

It’s interesting to note that John Cena still now wears sneakers when he wrestles.

#8 Possible heel turn

Jericho brings up about people always asking whether Cena would ever turn heel and Cena says it was discussed during his feud with The Rock. He stated that he was very excited having even recorded a new theme song and selected new attire.

Cena further states that people might want him to be the bad guy but the 8 year old kid in the front row lights up at who he is now.

Cena says he would be open to turning heel but he would hope WWE would have someone to take his place and to be there for the kids.
