WWE Monday Night Raw 7 March, 2016: Results

Ready to destroy the Wyatts

Will he destroy the Wyatts?Chicago is known for many things but as far as the wrestling fans are concerned, the only thing that matters is the passion for wrestling in the town. They are known to be incredibly vocal and as we are on the road to WrestleMania, this is one of the best places to have a major stop. Last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was pretty average and WWE should think about picking up their momentum as soon as they can. There are a string of things that the company needs to sort out before Roadblock and more importantly, before WrestleMania. This week’s Raw could drop some major hints about both the show and here is a look at the major talking points of the flagship show.

#5 Beast vs. Eater of worlds

Ready to destroy the Wyatts

When WWE booked Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar in a no holds barred street fight at WrestleMania, it seemed exciting. In between, WWE has booked Lesnar against Bray Wyatt at Roadblock and all of a sudden, we are eager to see what this match is all about.

The Royal Rumble scenario is clearly what drives this match but it makes no sense as WWE forgot about it and booked Lesnar against Ambrose before announcing Roadblock. Despite all the plot holes, we are bound to see some exciting exchanges between the Wyatt Family and Paul Heyman. Lesnar is expected to get physically involved against the new faces of fear as well.

#4 Tag team titles on the line

A heel turn in the books?

The newly formed tag team of Chris Jericho and AJ Styles is all set to face New Day for the WWE tag team championship at Monday Night Raw. Whether or not they deserve a tag title shot is an entirely different story but now that the match is booked, there is a lot of hype surrounding it.

If Jericho and AJ walk out as the tag team champions, it would open the door for New Day to face League of Nations in a non-title match at WrestleMania when Y2AJ could defend in a multiple tag team match. Or else, WWE could simply turn either Jericho or AJ Styles and have an AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho match at WrestleMania.

#3 Another week of absence

Another week without Reigns

Roman Reigns is WWE’s next big star. From the rumors, he is expected to be the top baby face of the company through to WrestleMania 34. However, it all depends on how he performs at the main event of WrestleMania 32. Currently, he is set to face Triple H for the WWE championship at the pay-per-view but two factors are keeping Reigns away from building the match up.

Firstly, his injury is keeping him off television and secondly, WWE has booked Dean Ambrose against Triple H for the WWE championship. Having a feud in the midst of the WrestleMania buildup has taken the heat off Reigns and WWE has to deal with his absence this week as well.

#2 New chapter in Shane McMahon saga

New saga needs to unveil

The buzz regarding the return of Shane McMahon took a major blow last week when WWE failed to capitalize on the return of Undertaker. They did not give any clear idea on why Undertaker would work for Vince McMahon and this has hurt the entire storyline. As of now, Undertaker is projected as a character that has no choice but to wrestle against Shane McMahon.

He does not have any heel shades and in short, both Shane and Undertaker would be treated as baby faces when Taker is supposed to be the bad guy representing Vince McMahon. Some development in this angle should be made this week on Raw or it could prove a bust investment from WWE’s hands.

#1 Roadblock for Dean Ambrose

New roadblock for Ambrose

WWE’s decision to let Dean Ambrose challenge for the WWE championship came in as a big surprise for the WWE fans. Everyone expected WWE to simply build up the Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar showdown on the road to WrestleMania, but instead, Ambrose now has a chance to walk out with the WWE championship around his waist.

Last week, Triple H threw in the League of Nations as a roadblock to Ambrose and we could expect something similar this week as well. Ambrose is going to be pitted as the new rebel in the absence of Reigns and though it would hurt the Ambrose vs. Lesnar feud, it would be good to see Ambrose in the main event.
