WWE RAW 18th January 2016 - 3 things that did not work

Jericho was at his annoying best on Raw

Don't know what exactly made sense to the writers of this show on this particular night which was the last Raw before the Royal Rumble, but we were given a show that mostly was just redundant. There were not much storyline developments except in the womens division, which is pleasantly surprising. There is just not much thrill going into the Rumble except Lesnar's apperance and the surprise entrants but as a storyline, this One Vs All thing is only harming Reigns’ momentum after the breakthrough he had with his title win on raw against Sheamus in Philly. Here are the 3 things that did not work on this show:

#1 Chris Jericho\'s appearance

Jericho was at his annoying best on Raw

This was annoying. Jericho was talking slow about something that never made sense. He was in the opening segment of Raw and he fully authorized a match between Reigns and Rusev and then anointed himself the special guest referee.

How dumb does one need to be understand this thing? Then he had the Highlight Reel where Paul Heyman making an appearance first and him and Heyman having a confrontation about nothing at all.

At one point you even hear Jericho ask what if he and Lesnar are the final two and he throws Lesnar out to become a 7-time World Heavyweight Champion. It’s not even entertaining anymore with Jericho teasing or even having a prophecy of such things. It ceased to be thrilling a long time ago.

#2 One vs All

End of the Roman empire?

The only One Vs All situation this writer is interested in is Brock Lesnar being in the ring with so many performers. The Royal Rumble is essentially about every man for himself. So, essentially it is a One Vs All situation for everyone involved.

With the very lukewarm build up, Roman Reigns finds himself in the same zone of being booed by half of the audience. Him spearing Lesnar twice got more boos than cheers. WWE has found a way to screw the very momentum Reigns worked so very hard to gain.

And if Reigns wins the Rumble again it won’t certainly be that happy a scene.

#3 Shifting alliances so quickly

Well, Paige only a few months back had a major confrontation and a splendid heel turn by being brutally honest about the sham that was the ‘Divas Revolution’. She had even slapped Natalya, by the way, on an episode of Smackdown when Nattie tried to put some sense into Paige.

But now they’re friends again and it’s all because, well, TOTAL DIVAS is about to air!

The great job WWE has done with Lynch vs Charlotte was sort of balanced by the illogicality of this Piage and Nattie pairing on the same episode.
