WWE RAW 28th September 2015 - 5 promising developments

Reigns Vs Wyatt sort of saved this episodeThis was the most boring Raw WWE has had to offer in some time. Maybe, this is a way to hype up things for the episode where they have Lesnar, Stone Cold, HBK and Ric Flair. But this episode was appalling by all means. They had so many opportunities which were wasted at best. Dont know how Vince McMahon took solace with this show and let it air as it was.A Kevin Owens- Rusev match was wasted, the divas storyline was again seemingly pointless and Kane is still in the main event. Not that hes not good but theres nothing new about all of that. The main event was a savior. It was awesome. Here are the five promising developments from this weeks show-

#1 New Day Indeed

Not only did they answer John Cena’s US Title Open Challenge, they even modified Cena’s motto calling it,”Hustle, Loyalty and Booty”.

Also, they faced three veterans later on in the Dudley Boyz and John Cena and looked like they belonged there. They even got the pin and the win. Their rising presence among veterans and opening or closing Raw seems to be saying that people in the back are believing in them as an act as much as everybody around them. Having Xavier Woods as their promo guy, Big E’s leaps and bounds and Kofi Kingston’s renewed energy is pure gold.

#2 Silver Linings

Lynch checks on Natalya

The entire Divas segment wasn’t the most entertaining thing on TV. We had Charlotte and Nikki Bella trying hard not to forget their lines. But the best part possibly was how their performance on the mic highlighted whatever Becky Lynch and Paige had to say. Lynch seemed effortless in calling Miz a “sexist, chauvinistic jackass” and commenting on Alicia Fox’s counting abilities. She was funny.

Paige, on the other hand, just had a few seconds on the mic. Talking about the Bellas’ partners still gets a reaction from the audience.

The promising development is despite a tag match on Raw, Paige is still on her own.

#3 The Family without Wyatt

Strong enough without Wyatt

Luke Harper and Braun Strowman defeated the Prime Time Players with ease. They showed their trademark moves of doom. These two have developed a really strong in ring presence and they seemed set for a future stint in the tag team division without always having Bray Wyatt by their side.

This was a short match which was enough to show how strong and effective Harper and Strowman are as a group and how monumentally difficult it is to overcome them.

#4 Heyman is back

Heyman sans Lesnar

Paul Heyman was here to save the show. His mere presence is enough to garner attention and his promos are enough to make things interesting. He was here to sell a Brock Lesnar match on Saturday at the Madison Square Garden. Mostly, he was here to sell a Big Show match. Heyman was doing a great job until WWE had Big Show, himself, show up and sort of ruin the segment.

Heyman credited Big Show's power, him being a giant and his punches but promised that the Giant will not leave Madison Square Garden without visiting Suplex City.

#5 The Main Event

These two stole the show.

While the entire show was average at best, the main event was surprisingly really, really good. And it’s great because it had two rising stars main event for the first time in a long, long time.

Wyatt vs Reigns was how it should have always been. These two loathe each other and weeks and weeks of having a mini Shield reunion and Wyatt reunion, what was amply clear was that these two men have unfinished business.

There was no decisive winner. A Double count out finish was perfect for this breathless match.

The feud continues...
