WWE RAW: August 4, 2014 - 5 Promising Developments

The Raw this week has been similar to last weeks episode. It started and ended in stellar fashion and there wasnt much to talk about in the middle of the show. Stephane McMahon and Brie Bellas feud continued in the main event again and it is safe to say that right now nobody is at the heel level of McMahon. Here are the 5 promising developments for Summerslam.

#1 The Dirty Deeds of Dean Ambrose

The Rollins and Ambrose feud refuses to get boring. This week the unthinkable happened- Heath Slater defeated Seth Rollins. And Dean Ambrose had a major role to play in it. Not only did he show up at the announcers booth butwhat he did next was just so apt for his gimmick. He took out the contract from the MITB briefcase that guaratees Rollins a shot at the titles and went on to tear it apart. He embellished the briefcase with a fans cold drink and popcorn and looked really good wearing JBLs cowboy hat.

That was quite a show at ringside, Ambrose.Take a bow!

#2 The Stephanie McMahon Effect

Is there anyone in the WWE right now who is a better heel than Stephanie McMahon? I dont think so. The sort of reaction she recieved for her promo in the opening segment was equal to what Vickie Guerrero got in her best days. And she has also learnt the art of being an evil boss from the best in the business (ahem..Vince McMahon).

Like father, like daughter.

She is the most interesting charcter than Brie Bella. And she has a history of having great build ups and her matches always deliver even though shes not much of a wrestler. If this match delivers and gets the desired reactions, we have mcMahon to thanks mostly, for the terrific heel work that shes put up.

#3 The Roman Empire

It seems like this is what the management is aiming for- A Roman Reigns empire.

And the ovation that he recieved when he interrupted Ortons promo was just tremendous and so was his match with Kane that followed. His promo was good too and it was a bit funny to see a guy in the audience behind Reigns who started making funny faces. That ought to make the managemnet cautious of letting Reigns give a promo amidst the stands.

But all in all, the vation to Roman Reigns added the cherry to the already robust opening segment highlighted by the chorus of boos for McMahon, Orton and Rollins wearing the same clothes which looked like their Authority uniformand Triple Hsconstant plug of watching Summerslam on the WWE Network which by the way costs $9.99. Phew.

#4 THE video package

If I would have stayed here, there would have been no John Cena. He would have been buying boxes of Fruity Pebbles and eating them at home instead of getting paid to eat them. Brock Lesnar

Lesnar and Cena were absent on Raw but their presence was everpresent with a video package highlighting their feud. That video package alone continued the stellar build up to this main event feud for Summerslam. This was essentially Brock Lesnars retort to Cenas incredible promo last week. And I am glad to say that it did not disappoint at all. the production team of the WWE is a stuff of legends.

#5 The Summerslam match card

There are four matches that have had tremendous build up and have gathered a lot of excitement. Theres Stephanie- Brie, Reigns- Orton, Ambrose- Rollins and finally Lesnar- Cena.

Add to it the fact that the divas division is getting more and more featured in the PPVs as Paige and AJ are also set to face each other for the title. So do heed to triple Hs constant appeal to buy Summerslam for just $9.99. And theyve probably lost a lot of money in the past few months, so go buy their product.
