WWE top 5 rumors of the week and analysis : 20 September, 2015

El Torito

Rusev and LanaWith just hours away from Night of Champions, the rumor mills are buzzing like anything. There have been a lot of talk about the possible endings and climaxes of the matches at Night of Champions. Apart from these, there has been some hint on the future storylines as well. A surprise name is apparently all set to receive a push from WWE whereas there is a talk about reversing a major storyline that the company kicked off.WWEs interest in a Ring of Wrestlers proved to be another major talking point. All these and more have found a place in the top five rumors of the week this time around. So here is a look at them and their analysis.

#5 Surprise push for wrestler

El Torito

While the fans are urging WWE to push names like Adam Rose and Dolph Ziggler, WWE is all set to give storyline backing to an unexpected name. El Torito, who recently had a tough time with the Los Matadores is all set to be given a new storyline from WWE. Torito, who has a vast experience of Wrestling in Mexico, might be seen competing in singles matches if everything goes right for him.

There is also a rumor about WWE using El Torito with the Lucha Dragons. Either way, the company has no intentions of letting go of the mini-luchador and he is expected to feature in the television in the coming weeks.

#4 CM Punk\'s record to be broken - 434 days

Roman Reigns

Now that WWE has successfully broken AJ Lee’s record as the longest reigning Divas Champion, WWE is looking forward in breaking the modern day record of CM Punk as well. WWE didn’t like the way that both superstars left the company and this might be the reason behind the whole record breaking thing.

While Nikki Bella was chosen to break the record of AJ Lee, Roman Reigns might be all set to break the record of Punk. His name has been floating around for the same but now that he is nowhere near the championship scene, the actual storyline could get delayed for some time. Seth Rollins is placed perfectly to be the one, but the chances of him breaking the record are low.

#3 WWE interested in ROH wrestler

Jay Lethal would be a welcome addition to the WWE

WWE has been attracting talents from all of over the world. Their latest target apparently is Jay Lethal. The former TNA and current Ring of Honor Champion is a regular name in the independent scene and he has done enough to impress the WWE officials. They are looking him as a great asset for NXT which indicates that there won’t probably be many plans for him in the main roster.

Lethal has been enjoying a lot of success in the Independent wrestling scene. He is currently a double champion in Ring Of Honor as he holds the ROH World Championship and the ROH World Television Championship. He is also a six time X-Division champion in TNA.

#2 Lana and Rusev to come together

Rusev needs Lana for his complete character

The storyline involving Rusev, Lana, Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae might finally be coming to an end. However, it is going to have a twisted ending. There are talks about WWE wanting to put Rusev and Lana back together. The split has hurt both parties and pairing them back together would be WWE’s efforts to save the sinking careers.

Ziggler and Rusev have been engaged in a feud over the past couple of months and the storyline has failed to capture the imagination of WWE Universe. Ending it at Night of Champions would be the right decision. And it would be interesting to see how WWE deals with the Rusev-Lana situation.

#1 Partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose

Kane’s impending return is much-awaited

The mystery partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose has been a matter of discussion for a long time. The new names that are thrown into the mix are Chris Jericho, Kane and The Rock. The chances of Randy Orton or Erick Rowan being the third man is apparently shot down and it would likely be one of the three mentioned earlier. Baron Corbin, meanwhile, is also a possibility.

It has turned out to be an interesting storyline for Night of Champions and WWE did a great job of not ruining the surprise. There is still a lot of excitement around the suspense and hopefully WWE will not blow it up even though they have a habit of doing so.
