Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 4 January, 2015

The New Year celebrations weren’t going to keep the Rumor mill back as it started the year with some interesting and mouthwatering speculations. Daniel Bryan’s return has really shuffled the whole WWE landscape making everyone curious about how the company plans to invest Bryan.A lot of changes need to be made ahead of Royal Rumble and it also affected the WrestleMania plans as well. Roman Reigns falling out of favor due to Bryan was an obvious rumor this week while Sting’s opponent for his debut raised some eyebrows.Elsewhere Kurt Angle fans got a big blow as the rumor about his WWE return surfaced this week. Undertaker was another usual suspect and here is a jump into all those best rumors the week and their analysis.

#5 Kurt Angle to sign with WWE after In ring retirement

The hopes of seeing Kurt Angle in WWE were buried recently when TNA revealed that he signed a new deal with the company. With TNA looking to come out bigger and stronger in their new network, Angle would be used as a big attraction even if he won’t wrestle much.

Angle is into the twilight of his career and might only have a couple of matches under his belt. When it comes to his WWE return, Angle will return to WWE once his TNA deal runs out.

He is probably going to sign a Legends deal which includes a Hall of Fame induction and we should be extremely lucky if we are to see him wrestle another match in WWE.

#4 Stings debut will be against Seth Rollins

Sting’s debut has been the topic of hot debates for nearly a decade now. He did make an appearance at Survivor Series but the Icon is yet to make his in ring debut in the WWE squared circle.

There are a lot of big names like Undertaker and Triple H doing the rounds for filling the spot, but the pick seems to have gone to Seth Rollins. Being the first one to face Sting in WWE will be a big career boost for Mr. Money in the Bank.

The match might happen at WrestleMania but could drop down before it, keeping the doors open for another veteran to face Sting at the big daddy of them all.

#3 Daniel Bryans opponent after Rumble

Daniel Bryan’s return made huge waves in the wrestling business. However, it turns out to be a big headache for the WWE since they need to invest him some where throughout the WrestleMania period.

The obvious choice would be to let Bryan face Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but the alternative floating around is a possible angle between Sheamus and Bryan.

The idea is to let Sheamus return as a heel at the Rumble and eliminate Bryan which would in turn spark a feud between the two. WWE Universe would really hate the idea but since Bryan is taking a big risk by wrestling again, no one can blame WWE for not letting him being in the spotlight all of a sudden.

#2 Roman Reigns no longer the favorite to win Royal Rumble

It doesn’t require a genius to figure out that Reigns is no longer the favorite to win the Royal Rumble. Daniel Bryan’s return has pushed Reigns down the ladder and the idea of a Lesnar – Reigns match is no longer in the books.

A match between Bryan and Lesnar is a bigger draw on any day and Bryan deserves to take the championship away from the Beast even though he is far away from being fit.

Also, Reigns winning the Royal Rumble in front of the rabid Philadelphia fans might not be a great idea since the fans are known for crucifying the pretty boys who come along with flashy moves instead of knowing how to wrestle.

#1 Undertaker to be inducted into Hall of Fame

The hopes of seeing Undertaker in WrestleMania were rested on the advertisement that he had for the event but from the looks of it, Taker was advertised for a Hall of Fame induction and not an actual match.

Taker might be done with his in ring career and the chances of him having a match at the pay-per-view are pretty slim. However, he could headline this year’s Hall of Fame which would make him appear at WrestleMania anyways.

There are no doubts about Taker deserving a Hall of Fame spot but this pushes Randy Savage out of favor since WWE might not be willing to put two big names in a single class.
