Best NBA Player Props for Tonight: Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Denver Nuggets v Golden State Warriors
NBA superstars Steph Curry and Nikola Jokic

The 2022-2023 NBA season continues on Thursday (November 3rd) with just four teams on the schedule.

Take a look at three strong player props for tonight's action, featuring Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

NBA Player Prop #1: Steph Curry Over 27.5 Points (-104)

Despite the defending champion Golden State Warriors' slow start, Steph Curry has been phenomenal to begin the 2022-2023 season. While the Warriors are just 3-5, Curry has scored over 30 points in six of their eight games. The two times he fell short were against the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat, who rank fourth and ninth in opponents points per game, respectively.

While the 1-7 Orlando Magic rank 12th in opponents points per game and 16th in defensive rating early in the season, that is largely due to their interior defense. Their perimeter defense has already allowed several players to have big nights, and Curry is in line to be the next. Look for Steph to score at least 28 points.

NBA Player Prop #2: Nikola Jokic Over 25.5 Points (-108)

After two consecutive MVP awards, Nikola Jokic has had a slow start to the 2022-2023 season in terms of scoring the ball. After averaging 26.4 points per game and 27.1 points per game in his MVP seasons, Jokic is currently averaging just 21.0 points per game. Furthermore, he has scored 26 or more points just three times this season.

When factoring in that the Oklahoma City Thunder currently rank 11th in opponents points per game and fourth in defensive rating, Jokic's inclusion may seem odd. Doing a deeper dive, however, will show that the Thunder have been terrible at defending the paint.

They have allowed 53.4 points in the paint, the fifth-most in the NBA. Look for Jokic to take advantage of a defense that doesn't have anybody with the size to contain him. Expect him to score at least 26 points.

NBA Player Prop #3: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 27.5 Points (-106)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having the best season of his career in 2022-2023. He has scored at least 28 points in five of his six games played.

Gilgeous-Alexander is currently fourth in the league, averaging 31.5 points per game. That total trails only Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Kevin Durant.

While it remains to be seen if he can keep up this level of play for a full season, he should have no problem doing so against a Denver Nuggets defense that ranks 24th in opponents points per game and 25th in defensive rating. Expect Gilgeous-Alexander to continue his hot start by scoring at least 28 points.
