Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Key Stats

On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors played the Orlando Magic in an effort to end a three-game losing streak. It didn't turn out well as Golden State lost 130-129, dropping their fourth straight game. The defending champions' current season record is 3-6.

Steph Curry scored 39 points with eight three-pointers. Klay Thompson added 29 points with seven threes, giving the Splash Brothers a vintage appearance. While Andrew Wiggins scored 15 and Kevin Looney scored 17. However, once more, the Warriors' defense was essentially nonexistent, allowing 130 points on 54% shooting.

Despite being a two-point favorite, the New Orleans Pelicans dropped a tough game to the LA Lakers on Wednesday, losing 120–117. After the Lakers' Matt Ryan sank a three-pointer to finish regulation, the game was decided in overtime, and the Lakers prevailed.

The Pelicans are now 4-3 on the year and are in third place in the Southwest Division, one-half game behind San Antonio and Memphis.

With 27 points, five rebounds, and seven assists, Zion Williamson led the Pelicans. CJ McCollum chipped in with 22 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Trey Murphy scored 12 points and Jose Alvarado added 15 points off the bench.

Herb Jones and Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans' starters, were once again absent from the lineup, but both are expected to play on Friday night. The Pelicans are 16th in points allowed and first in points scored per game in the league.

Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans Best Picks and Prediction

I back the Pelicans in this one for a few different reasons. As of Thursday night, the Warriors had a dismal record against the spread (2-6 ATS). Moreover, after playing in Orlando on Thursday, the Warriors are on the road for a back-to-back.

The Pelicans are also complete once more thanks to the expected return of Ingram, one of their stars, and Jones, their greatest perimeter defender.

Finally, the Warriors have had a bad season on the road, going 0-5 this year. Additionally, the Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in their previous six home games against a club with a losing road record. The Warriors, meanwhile, are 0-4 ATS in their last four away games. Take cover with the Pelicans.

Pick: Pelicans -4.5 (-110)
