The rest of the two multiple Slam winners, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka, haven't been much on court throughout the 2018 season. Andy only played 12 matches in whole of 2018 and Stan only played only 34, looking out of touch in most of those.

Stan seemed to find his form near the end of the year and Andy is also set for the comeback in 2019. Stan is currently ranked 66 in the world and Murray is ranked outside the top 250.

And if they find their form, then 2019 can be a year to remember for all the tennis fans eagerly waiting for the tennis season to start.

3: Potentially the year for a new Grand Slam winner

Can Alexander Zverev take his year-ending form into the new season and win a Major?

There is no Grand Slam winner below the age of 30. There are many contenders to be the next player to win a Major.

Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev are leading this pack of players. Thiem reached the final of Roland Garros and Zverev won 4 titles in 2018, including one Masters 1000 title in Madrid and the ATP Finals in London.

But there are more on the list of potential Grand Slam winners. Karen Khachanov won his first Masters 1000 title in Paris, Borna Coric won in Halle and Stefanos Tsitsipas is playing some wonderful tennis. Then there are also David Goffin, Nick Kyrgios and Kyle Edmund who have already proven themselves in the past.

One of these younger players can finally win a Grand Slam and officially announce the beginning of a new era in men's tennis in 2019.
