#3 Andrei Medvedev (19 years 236 days)

19-year-old Ukrainian Andrei Medvedev became the youngest player to win a Masters 1000 title after beating Spain's Serge Bruguera in straight sets in 1994 to become the 5th different winner in as many editions of the Monte Carlo Masters.

In the process, Medvedev won his first title of the season, the seventh of his young career., and the first of 4 Masters 1000 titles he would win during the course of his career.

It was a remarkable triumph considering the fact that Medvedev overwhelmed former Masters 1000 winners - Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg in successive matches to reach his first Masters 1000 final where he usurped Agassi as the youngest player to lift a title in the tournament category.


#2 Rafael Nadal (18 years 318 days)

Rafael Nadal became the second-youngest player winner at a Masters 1000 tournament when the then 18-year-old beat Argentine Guillermo Coria in four sets to lift his first title in the tournament category at the 2005 Monte Carlo Masters.

Nadal would scipt more history at the tournament a year later where he became the first teenager to successfully defend a Masters 1000 title.

The Spaniard is the only player to win multiple Masters 1000 titles before his 20th birthday, beating world no. 1 Roger Federer at the 2006 Rome Masters for his 6th title in the tournament category.

Monte Carlo would prove to be a happy hunting ground for Nadal as it was at this tournament in 2017 when he became the first player to win 10 titles at a Masters 1000 tournament or for that matter at any tournament. A year later, Nadal returned to lift his 11th title in the Principality which is a record for most titles won at a Masters 1000 tournament.

A year after becoming the youngest-ever Grand Slam men's singles champion in the Open Era when he triumphed at 1989 Roland Garros, Michael Chang became the youngest champion in Masters 1000 history when he won the 1990 Coupe Rogers title.

The then 18-year-old American beat Pete Sampras in the semifinal before conquering first-time Masters 1000 finalist Jay Berger in a third-set tiebreak to win his first Masters 1000 title.

In the process, Chang usurped Andrei Medvedev to become the youngest player to lift a title in the tournament category - a record which has stood intact for 3 decades.
