Boris Becker has reacted to the news of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard returning to the club for his second stint as their manager. The Englishman was appointed as the Blues' caretaker boss until the end of the current season.

On Sunday, April 2, Chelsea made the announcement regarding the termination of former manager Graham Potter's employment. The decision was made in light of the team's sustained run of poor form. They most recently lost 2-0 to Aston Villa in the Premier League on April 1.

Following this, it has been revealed that Lampard will be taking over the reins at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season. The club are currently assessing potential long-term successors to Potter.

Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann and former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique are among the top contenders.

Lampard previously managed Chelsea from July 2019 to January 2021 before he was sacked. His first game back as their manager will be against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on April 8.

On Thursday, April 6, Boris Becker took to social media to show support for Frank Lampard after his re-appointment.

"We love Frank," he captioned his Instagram story.

Boris Becker has also stood up for Romelu Lukaku amidst the Belgian footballer's battle against racism. Lukaku, who plays as a striker for Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea, was the target of racial slurs during his team's recent Coppa Italia semifinal match against Juventus.

The 29-year old was subjected to monkey chants and racial gestures before he successfully converted his penalty, which stole the spotlight. Lukaku was also sent off in the dying moments of the game after receiving a second yellow card for a provocative celebration in response to the abuse.

After the incident, the Belgian athlete took to social media to urge authorities to take decisive action against racism. He also expressed gratitude towards those who supported him during the ordeal.

"History repeats. I've been through it in 2019.. and 2023 again. I hope the league takes action for real this time because this beautiful game should be enjoyed by everyone… Thank you for the supportive messages. F*ck racism," Lulaku captioned his Instagram post.

Becker shared the post on his Instagram story, declaring his support for Lukaku.

"We always support you," he wrote.
