Carlos Alcaraz's sister-in-law recently penned an emotional message, celebrating the Spaniard's historic win in the final of the 2025 French Open. Alcaraz successfully defended his title against Jannik Sinner after five hours and 29 minutes of breathtaking tennis, in a match which went on to become the second-longest Grand Slam final in history.
Sinner dominated the match from the get-go and took a massive two-set lead. While many counted the man from Murcia out at this moment, he displayed some incredible resilience to turn things around and take the third. The Italian bounced back in the fourth and had three championship points on the Spaniard's serve.
In what will now be remembered as one of the biggest comebacks in the history of sports, Alcaraz completed a staggering turnaround by saving all three championship points and went on to triumph over his rival 4-6, (4)6-7, 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2) and win the fifth Grand Slam of his career at the age of 22.
Carlos Alcaraz has always talked about how important his family is to him. The Spaniard's family and team were all present in his box to cheer him on and give him the support he needed to pull off the miraculous feat. As soon as he won the match, the 22-year-old rushed to his box to celebrate with his loved ones, which included coach Juan Carlos Ferrero, father Carlos Alcaraz Gonzales, mother Virginia Garfia Escandon, and others.
Alcaraz's sister-in-law, Lucia, who is his elder brother Alvaro's partner, penned a loving message for the five-time Grand Slam champion, expressing how proud she was of him.
"Life didn't give me brothers, but it gave me wonderful brothers-in-law like you. Thank you for letting me live all this craziness you're achieving, I can't fit more pride inside, I admire you so much and I love you even more ❤️," she wrote.
The Spaniard, who was touched by his sister-in-law's beautiful words, responded by writing,
