Chris Evert congratulates Barbora Krejcikova after her historic Dubai Tennis Championships title beating all top 3 players in the world

World No. 30 Barbora Krejcikova showcased a scintillating display of tennis at the Dubai Tennis Championships to win her first singles title of the season. She thus earned the praise of many, including Chris Evert.

Playing in the fifth tournament of the 2023 season, Krejcikova beat four players seeded in the top 10 to lay her hands on the coveted title. En route to the final, the Czech player beat Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka and World No. 3 Jessica Pegula.

Up against World No. 1 Iga Swiatek in the finals, the former French Open winner got the better of her opponent 6-4, 6-2 to win the sixth title of the season.

Following her win, the 2021 French Open winner lavishly praised her Polish opponent. She also said that Swiatek "inspired" and "motivated" her.

“I have to really admire Iga, just for what she has done, what she is doing. I have so much respect for her. To me, she’s a big inspiration, and she motivates me every day," Krejcikova said.

Chris Evert shared a social media post that highlighted Krejcikova's comments on Swiatek. The legendary former player sang praises of the Czech professional for beating the top three players in the world consecutively.

"To beat #’s 1, 2, and 3 in the world??? In the same week? Wow, a big congratulations to @BKrejcikova fantastic week, keep it up," the 18-time Grand Slam singles winner wrote.

Barbora Krejcikova's exceptional tennis helped her beat Aryna Sabalenka 6-0, 6-7(2), 6-1, in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Dubai. Up against Pegula in the penultimate match, Krejcikova won 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 to set up the summit clash with Iga Swiatek.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Krejcikova heaped praise on the World No. 1 and her winning streak.

"[Iga Swiatek] is No. 1. She has more than 10,000 points. She's winning everything. She had amazing streak last year. I mean, this year also. Last week she played amazing," Krejcikova said.

The former doubles World No. 1 also hopes for a chance to practice with the Polish tennis sensation.

"This week, I saw her matches. She was in a really good shape, a really good form. It's great if I get an opportunity to practice with her because she's just so dedicated to tennis."

At the Australian Open 2023, Barbora Krejcikova won the doubles title. Now, with this win, she has enhanced her reputation greatly.
