World No. 2 in the WTA rankings, Iga Swiatek is a Polish professional tennis player and the youngest individual to win a singles Major since Rafael Nadal in 2005. The 23-year-old prodigy has won 22 singles titles over her entire tennis career as of March 2025, including the 2024 Indian Wells and the 2024 Madrid Open, where she defeated Aryna Sabalenka by 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 in the final. Swiatek was born in Warsaw, and has become one of the most dominant forces that the WTA has witnessed in the recent past. She conquered the US Open in 2022 and the French Open in 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Swiatek reached back-to-back semifinals at the 2025 Qatar Open and the 2025 Indian Well Masters, losing to Jelena Ostapenko and Mirra Andreeva, respectively. She reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 Miami Open, where she will be facing Alexandra Eala.

Capping off a strong 2024 clay court season, the Pole won her third straight Roland Garros title. Swiatek has an all-court playing style. With a drop shot from the baseline, she won the WTA Fan Favorite Shot of the Year in 2019 and was chosen as the WTA Fan Favorite Singles Player of the Year in 2020. She was named the 2023 Polish Sports Personality of the Year as well as the L'Equipe Champion of Champions. She was also listed among the top 100 influential people in the world in 2023 by Time magazine. Her first Grand Slam victory came at the 2020 French Open, and she has managed to win four more Majors since then.
