In the quarterfinals, she faced Elena Rybakina but retired due to a right thigh injury.


Swiatek won the 2023 French Open and went on to win her fourth Major title without dropping a set. Swiatek's effort to retain the 2023 US Open title was derailed by a three-set loss to Jelena Ostapenko, capping her impressive 75-week stint as the world's top-ranked player. She won her fifth title of the year, her sixteenth overall, as she defeated Liudmila Samsonova.
