Daria Kasatkina hilariously reacted as Barbora Krejcikova openly offered fans four tickets to watch her play at the WTA Elite Trophy.

The 2023 WTA Elite Trophy event is currently underway at the Hengqin International Tennis Center in Zhuhai, China. In singles, it features 11 highest ranked players who failed to make the WTA Finals cut, as well as one wild card entry. The competitors are split into four groups of three, with the winner of each group reaching the semifinals knockout stage.

World No. 10 Barbora Krejcikova and World No. 17 Daria Kasatkina have qualified for the tournament and are drawn in Group Azalea, alongside World No. 23 Magda Linette.

Linette and Krejcikova kicked off their campaign on Tuesday, October 24, facing each other. The latter won the encounter 6-2, 6-4. Kasatkina, meanwhile, will commence her journey on Wednesday, October 25, in what will be a must-win match against Barbora Krejcikova, who already has a win under her belt and is one win away from a semifinals spot.

Ahead of their clash, the Czech took to social media and offered four free tickets to fans, asking if anyone is interested to watch her play. It is worth noting that the clashes held on Tuesday, including the one between Barbora Krejcikova and Magda Linette, struggled to draw in spectators.

“Anyone in Zhuhai who wants to come to watch me tomorrow? 4 tickets!” the 2021 French Open champion wrote on X.

Daria Kasatkina, who is Krejcikova's opponent in the match, hilariously indicated that she will be interested in taking the tickers.

The Czech responded by joking that the Russian will be offered a special seat in her box.

“You get a special seat in my players box,” she quipped.

Barbora Krejcikova and Daria Kasatkina have faced each other four times in their careers so far. Three of those clashes have come in 2023.

The duo first crossed paths in the opening round of the 2021 Cincinnati Open, with the Czech emerging victorious. Their second meeting came in the second round of the 2023 Adelaide International 2, where Kasatkina was the winner. A month later, at the Dubai Tennis Championships, Barbora Krejcikova, who was the tournament champion, avenged the defeat in the second round in a tightly-contested three-setter.

Krejcikova and Kasatkina’s most recent clash was just couple of weeks ago, at the Zhengzhou Open. The former World No. 2 triumphed yet again, establishing a 3-1 lead over the Russian.

Kasatkina will hope to make a recovery during the upcoming WTA Elite Trophy match and keep her hopes for the semifinals spot alive.
