Tennis fans were delighted to see Coco Gauff's heartwarming gesture of comforting a tearful fan in Berlin. Gauff is currently in Germany to compete in the 2024 ecotrans Ladies Open and she is the top seed in the tournament.
Gauff will kick off her campaign at the WTA 500 grass court tournament in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. Her opening match will be against Ekaterina Alexandrova, who defeated Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-4, 6-4 in the first round.
Coco Gauff will begin her campaign at the ecotrans Ladies Open on the back of her brilliant performances in both singles and doubles at the 2024 French Open. In the singles event, she made it to the semifinals before losing to the eventual champion, Iga Swiatek 6-2, 6-4. She also achieved a career-high ranking of World No.2 after the tournament
The American had teamed up with Katerina Siniakova and they claimed the doubles Grand Slam title at Roland Garros by defeating the Italian pair of Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini 7-6(5), 6-3 in the final.
Before starting her campaign in Berlin, Coco Gauff took the time to meet with her fans, signing autographs and taking pictures with them. One young boy approached her, expressing his admiration for her and revealed that he runs a fan page dedicated to her . The boy then began to tear up, prompting Gauff to console him and she also offered him a comforting hug.

Coco Gauff had a semifinals run in Berlin in 2022

Coco Gauff's best performance in the WTA 500 gras court tournament in Berlin came in 2022 which was known as the Bett1open.
Gauff was seeded seventh and kicked off her campaign by deeating Ann Li with a score of 6-2, 7-6(2) in the first round. She then overcame qualifier Wang Xinyu with a commanding score of 6-0, 6-4 in the second round.
The World No.2 then faced off against fourth seed Karolina Pliskova, securing a victory with a score of 7-4, 6-4. However, Gauff's journey came to an end in the semifinals when she was defeated by top seed and eventual champion Ons Jabeur with a score of 6-7(4), 2-6.
