Naomi Osaka has been writing a new book and intends to share an excerpt. In 2022, she authored a children's book "The Way Champs Play" in which she shared tips with youngsters on the right habits and attitudes necessary to become champions.
The former World No. 1 returned to tennis at the start of the 2024 season. She had missed almost all of 2023 after announcing that she and her boyfriend, the rapper Cordae, were expecting a child. She gave birth to a baby daughter Shai in July last year.
Osaka finished this season in 60th place on the WTA Tour rankings. She took to Threads and revealed she's currently writing a new book:
"So I've been writing a book and I think I want to post one excerpt on IG because I feel like someone might find it relatable and that would make me happy."
The four-time Major winner later shared a screenshot of her Threads post via an Instagram story, revealing her nervousness at the idea of sharing an excerpt:
"I'm kinda nervous, if I wake up with courage I'll post it tomorrow."
Osaka was ecstatic following the release of her first book and shared how she wanted it to impact children.
"This book holds an extra special place in my heart" - Naomi Osaka after first book's release
Naomi Osaka's first book, "The Way Champs Play" was released in early December 2022. Following its release, she shared how she envisioned the book impacting children via an Instagram post:
"I hope this book inspires kids to chase their dreams and encourages them to believe they can do anything they put their minds to. This book holds an extra special place in my heart as a portion of the proceeds will go to my foundation @playacademynaomi which works to support young girls in sport."
The Japanese is set to start her preparations for the 2025 season soon. Earlier this year, she roped Serena Williams' ex-coach Patrick Mouratoglou into her camp hoping to improve upon her inconsistent displays in 2024.
